Even if you haven't played MTV Games and Harmonix's Rock Band (Xbox 360, PlayStation 3), you'll probably have guessed that playing the bass guitar is very different from playing any of the other instruments. Sure you're using the same wireless guitar controller that the lead guitarist is using, but you're definitely going to be handling a very different aspect of the song.

Now some people have commented that it is relatively easier to play the bass on most of the songs in the game. However, the guys from Harmonix made sure to include a few tracks which lets the bassist of the group shine. One such track is "Sabotage" which was originally performed by the Beastie Boys. Playing this song doesn't look like a walk in the park, as the video illustrates.

If you plan on playing the bass in Rock Band, just be cool. Sure, all your other friends will probably be making snarky comments at first but they'll be eating their words once you start bailing them out of tough spots when they mess up. Rock Band will be out by November 23 this year.
