Rumor: Aerosmith working on Guitar Hero 'IV' - Image 1

What we do know for sure is that a Billboard news item spilled information that Aerosmith was working on "Guitar Hero IV," despite the fact that Activision's Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock (PlayStation 3, Wii, Xbox 360) hasn't even shipped to shelves just yet. The news article said:

Besides the album, Aerosmith is also working closely with the makers of "Guitar Hero IV," which will be dedicated to the Boston group's music. "I don't know much about the technical part of it," Perry says, "but artistically we're working hand in hand."

1UP speculates that the "Guitar Hero IV" mentioned in the article could be a second installment to Guitar Hero Encore. Its first and only title, Guitar Hero Encore: Rock the 80s, was just released last month in Australia. Inquiries to RedOctane were declined, although the developer hinted that the information was only a rumor. And it'll probably stay that way, until more data turns up. Keep your eyes glued to this space, in case it happens.
