Remember the rumored list of features that will be applied on the upcoming Spring Update, the one that supposedly includes calibration options for a certain mysterious motion-sensing device? Well, here's another related tidbit: apparently, Microsoft is planning to add an optional Xbox 360 dashboard overhaul, and it's going to be quite a revamp. So how big is this update? According to Kotaku's sources, this optional dashboard interface will be in 3D, and will use the oft-mentioned rumored motion controls to somehow slide around the "floating" menu. It certainly sounds like the dashboard will certainly go futuristic this time around; but if this piece of gossip turn out to be true, then we're somehow glad that Microsoft will be keeping the current Dashboard interface instead of entirely replacing it with the grandspanking' new motion-sensing menu. The idea sounds spiffy enough and worth looking into, but will this curb the dashboard's current tendency to be a little too cluttered at times? Updates as we get them. |

If the gossip turns out true, wouldn't that mean it would have the new interface?...
And by the sound of it, I think I would prefer a 2d interface...

» but...
MS officially stated there would be no Spring Update, so the rumor is not only is there a new interface, but they will release a spring update? little far-fetched....

» Agreed
I totally agree with you, and to add to your statement, it's a little late for a spring update as we're literally in the middle of summer.

» Really?

» Hell yeah!
Well lets hope that this isn't like the Xp to Vista jump, but in terms of interface, since it will be 3D. I'm stoked to see how it looks but if it slows down my xbox or causes problem, than I'll be pist. But isn't this going to be coming out for the summer update, since spring has past?

» Well
I think most people go by the astronomical start and end of seasons (equinoxes and solstices). Using the astronomical dates, mid Dec is the Fall in the northern hemisphere

doubt this will be true. i personally hate the Xbox dashboard, but Microsoft seem to love it, and i doubt they'd do a Sony and put more effort into the system menu than the console.
