Xbox 360 logo - Image 1We've got some rumors flying about right now about Microsoft's Xbox 360 console, like the alleged Newton motion-sensing controller, but some others are squashed immediately right after they are launched into the Internet. One such rumor is the production of slimmer Xbox 360 units, which will house the new Valhalla chipsets.

Whispers about the Xbox 360 Slim had circulated the gossip mill only recently, but it was almost instantaneously crushed when a Microsoft representative said, "while we don't normally comment on rumors like this, we can tell you that we have no plans to release a new console in 2009."

Of course, taking into account the recurring tendency of industry figures denying "rumors" until they are officially unveiled, it won't harm anybody to keep a window open in anticipation of the newer, slimmer Xbox 360. More updates as they come!

 » new chip set comes up= attemp to fix their failure

It's just amazing to see how money hogging companies like MS is so eager to make the extra millions by giving you a crappy machine...

I bet it was half way completed when they released it....didn't bother to check for bugs or RROD....

while PS3 spend so much time perfecting everything out for the fans...

While the WII and PS3 are flourishing the only game XCrap can play is catch up....and I'm not even talking about software wise and current hits.....

They are struggling so hard to put out a decent system that can actually work that they had to do many internal changes to just keep the machine running.....pathetic...

When was the last time you heard PS3 or WII having internal changes........last time I checked internal changes were mainly for next generation consoles or to make something smaller and lighter as everyone seems to want everything light..

don't bring up hardrive because it is not mean to make a system smaller or weight less

take PSP to PSP slim, NDS to NDS lite, computer to laptop, PS2 to PS2 slim/compact...whatever you call it.....do you get the point...

Unless some one's company depends on trying to keep their system alive by doing so.

I feel sad they had to experiment on the thousands or even millions of people who got a Xcrap like LAB RATS...

hey with out your ignornce and undying help they were able to do it and will continue at the cost of your X crap dying so you have to get another one..= free money to them to experiment on to eventually make it half as stable as the PS3 or the WII

By that time a new generation will be release and who spent all their time and money doing what.....and getting what in return.....

Just bend down and let them hammer it to ya a$$ like Usual.....

 » I love this

Microsoft has consistently used the phrase "we have no plans to [blah]" as a means of hiding what they really do have plans for. So, we'll see.{comments_result_22}
