This is just the latest in Midway's ongoing financial soap opera. Layoffs, huge losses, and the resignations of some of its top execs were only a few of the bad news that has plagued Midway these past few months.

Complaints about graphical glitches and game-breaking bugs have so far hounded the Fallout 3 (PS3, Xbox 360, PC) experience, but according to a Bethesda community manager, a patch for all of the game's versions is forthcoming.

Gearbox president Randy Pitchford has denied rumors that Aliens: Colonial Marines (PS3, Xbox 360, PC) has been canceled. The fate of the team-based shooter was called into question following rumors that Sega has cut funding for the game. All is well according to Pitchford, though.

Well no wonder you've got layoffs in the industry recently - not to mention the shutting down of certain studios and whatnot. According to research conducted by EEDAR, only 4% of the total games out in the market ever make a profit - all other 96% just either break even or lose money. Yeouch.
