Just about every sci-fi horror flick out there starts with a crew of unknowing space explorers entering the supposedly empty remains of a space station or space vessel. We don't have to draw a very graphic picture of what kind alien life form starts slaughtering the scouting party one by one.

Electronic Arts' upcoming sci-fi shooter Dead Space is no exception to this typical plot. However, after seeing the trailer as well as the initial screenshots for the game, it's like watching a classic "Aliens" movie brought to life.

As we previously mentioned, the game shoves you into the role of space mining engineer Isaac Clarke, who is sent with a small crew to answer a distress beacon from the USG Ishimura. The game progresses into a major survival horror run afterwards, as Clarke tries to escape the alien-infested ship.

If you're wondering how the game is going to come out, take a look at the video and see if that won't send some chills down your spine. Dead Space is set to be released next year for the PlayStation 3 and the Xbox 360.
