Halo 3 sprinting to the finish line by September - Image 1This should get you jumping off your seats, Halo 3 fanboys! Microsoft Game Studios">Shane Kim of Microsoft has reportedly "slipped" to 1UP that they would like to get their shooter out in the market before Rockstar jumps the gun on them with their GTA IV on October.

Let us spell it out to you. That would be a September release, guys. "If they can get out before GTA IV, they probably feel like that's better, sort of like Xbox 360 coming out before the PlayStation 3." But that is if they can have it their way. However, the ball's not on their court, and it will ultimately be up to Bungie to set the release date.

But at least we've narrowed down the date to something more specific for us to be able to better prepare for those campouts ahead when Halo 3 does get launched, eh? We'll be sure to keep you posted on this one.

No way it's released that early. Bungie doesn't want to have the same problems it had last year when they pushed a hard date to the consumers and then cut things out of the game in order to make that deadline.

This time all we've heard is that Bungie is going to pace themselves better in order to include everything in the game that they want in the game...and that means that the release date will probably be later rather than sooner.

GTA has no effect on halo 3, pretty dumb news story.

Are you trying to say that Halo 3 is nothing compared to GTA? Or that GTA is nothing compared to Halo 3? Both are completely wrong, but I'm just wondering

I'd love to see the game come out on July 7th, 2007. I mean, 7/7/07 (their favorite number)

Your wrong. They never said that. The closest they have came to releasing a date thus far is when they released PC backgrounds on there website that say "Fall 2007". My guess is it will be released in November just like Halo 1 and Halo2 but it is not confirmed yet.

correction, it is not left entirely to bungie to have their own release date. Bungie had once said in their *****y updates that it was left to ms game studios to ultimately decide their release dates for their xbox games, not them. So ur wrong in essence

*****ty updates? Last time I checked Bungie was the ONLY dev that takes time out of there busy schedules to let us fans know what is going on every single week. They may not release much game or story info but it's better than nothing.

*****ty updates.... i would rather have a company not say anything about release dates rather than have it delayed.

a "november release date" sounds a whole lot better than a "september release date delayed till november."

Lol, what a retard:
" Last time I checked Bungie was the ONLY dev that takes time out of there busy schedules to let us fans know what is going on every single week. They may not release much game or story info but it's better than nothing."

Last time i checked you're a moron. Off the top of my head, I know that bizzare creations and valve both do weekly updates along with devs posting on their forums. Epic and 3d realms also have devs posting on thier forums. I'm sure that there's plenty of other developers that do this too.

 » lol Pyro

lulz, Duke Nukem Forever.
Wheres my weekly updates?
I'm pretty sure FU is coming from the department on how the companies web sites are laid out, Bungie has theirs all set up where there are "Stories and Dev Blogs" first. There are some buttons for forums and thats it, 3D Realms has their forums and so does Epic, but I'd only agree with FU with something he probably thought of but didn't type it. Bungie knows how to Blog pretty well about their work, to over hype something, ect.

 » Whatever

I wouldn't call talking about grass and water over hyping it, but whatever.

I think what fu was getting at is that Bungie does it best, which they do, by a long shot. I can't recall ever seeing one of Valve's weekly updates, and I can't be bothered to go searching forums to find updates. With Bungie it's right there on the front page, usually pretty long and decently written (not saying other devs' updates aren't, since I've never seen one) and usually pretty interesting

This is too good to believe. So I don't.

And I saw the interview. The interviewers (Luke Smith and some other guy) were the ones who said September, not Kim. All Kim said was that obviously earlier is better, but not at the expense of the quality of the final product. As much as I wish this were true, I think the community is just making too much out of this interview that really didn't say anything at all.
