Video coverage (via CNet) of a recent press event by MTV Network's Jeff Yapp has revealed something we're sure will strike a chord among those waiting up for word of Rock Band: gameplay footage.

Going into details, the segment is located in the last one minute of the vid documenting MTV's plans in the virtual world, and clearly presents the four roles we'll have in-game: the drummer, bass guitar, lead guitar, and vocalist.

It doesn't look the whole group is using the game's official peripherals, however - the guitarist appears to be using the Guitar Hero peripherals, while the drums look very much like the set Harmonix announced previously.
