Mirror's Edge DLC Not So Exlusive After All - Image 1A few weeks ago, Sony was asked what they thought about Microsoft's new tactic of bagging exclusive DLC, and they mysteriously said that "nothing is ever exclusive."

I doubt this is what they meant, though.

Turns out that the touted PS3 exclusive DLC for Mirror's Edge isn't so exclusive after all. Gamecyte managed to get EA on the line and confirmed that the DLC will be "downloadable content for both platforms," according to the spokesperson.

This news isn't exactly generous with the details though. Is it a timed exclusive? Or will both platforms have completely different DLC like what EA did for Dead Space?

At any rate, sucks for Sony.

 » hmm

Knowing EA, that's entirely possible, but I'd need a source before I can actually spread the good word. If you could find me a source for that, I'll go update the article ;)

 » I think lee123 is right.

They would have announced this publicly. I recall reading a while back that PS3 will have it's "own" DLC, while the 360 will have it's own. Even if thats not true, oh well. Still buying the game.

 » that kinda sucks...

all this exclusivity crap... DLC or not.

it's about greed, not gaming.

greedy gamers want more for their system and less for everyone else...

greedy companies just want more of our money...

everyone can plainly see what excessive greed does to any market, if consumers keep fighting each other instead of the corporations it will continue unchecked until it collapses... or we have a monopoly.

 » I disagree

DLC is for replayability not for greed. But the one who pays to have the exclusive DLC will get sales. Its competition, and that's what drives great games and ultimately better gaming experience for us.

 » What a stupid article.

This says nothing about PS3 losing it's edge or the exclusive DLC. All this says is that the 360 will also be getting DLC. Obviously the PS3 will be getting the same DLC that the 360 gets but the PS3 will have exclusive DLC that the 360 doesn't get.

This just looks like some fanboy article to try and spin it and to make people think that the PS3 won't get exclusive DLC when it has already been confirmed.
