Splatterhouse - Image 1

Development on Namco Bandai's remake of Splatterhouse has been, to put it mildly, a bit bumpy. The original developer was pulled, but then we heard that they had to be asked for help in order to finish the game up. Development is reportedly continuing, but that doesn't mean we'll be seeing the game this year.

According to Siliconera, a Namco Bandai rep has confirmed that Splatterhouse is now officially slated for a 2010 release on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. Surge, the internal team that was tasked with finishing the game, is still taking care of development with some help from "a team in San Diego".

The assets we've already seen didn't really do it for me, but I'm looking forward to seeing what the game looks like now. Hopefully we'll get more updates on this in the future.
