Splatterhouse (PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360) is definitely getting all ready to splatter up your consoles by 2010. Last June, it was confirmed that the US release has been bumped up to 2010. Today, Namco Bandai has sent out a press release confirming (re-affirming, if you must), the said release window, this time also applied for Europe and PAL territories.

Development on Namco Bandai's remake of Splatterhouse has been, to put it mildly, a bit bumpy. The original developer was pulled, but then we heard that they had to be asked for help in order to finish the game up. Development is reportedly continuing, but that doesn't mean we'll be seeing the game this year.

Developer BottleRocket Entertainment has had an on-and-off relationship with Namco Bandai's Splatterhouse remake for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. After getting booted off the project for "performance issues", they're back to working on Splatterhouse, in a manner of speaking.

The previous screens shown for the 3D re-imagining of the classic Splatterhouse were rather... well, let's say a bit underwhelming. If any of you may need a bit more convincing, maybe this trailer can help. At least, it's got some action packed in, and ooh, the huge bosses!
