If you had to see just how much Sam Fisher has changed - and whether it's agreeable or not - IGN finally put up this gameplay work-in-progress video from Ubisoft of Splinter Cell: Conviction.

And as it is an indicator, yes, Sam has changed. Since when did he beat the crap out of five-odd cops like Jack Bauer after a coffee break? There's a rather layered combat system implemented here, it seems, apart from the ever-handy "throw a chair at the guy" attack that the new environment dynamic emphasizes.

The question is, is it still Splinter Cell? The only certain answer is that the debates do not end here; that only the game in our hands and the tabulated outcry of Splinter Cell fans the world over will deliver the verdict. One video and these screenshots are not enough.

 » hmm

it kinda reminds me of dead rising, anyways, i hope they still add a stealth element to the game, if they dont, i doubt i will be buying it unless it gets really good ratings. and in my opinion, sam fisher looks gay, looks nothing like the the previous version.

Why do the civilians walk like L.E.G.O.?

I really liked SC1 and CT (sorta), and I loved SvM but they butchered it in DA. If Conviction is anything like PT or DA its gonna suck, and I hope they take a step back in SvM, back to when it was actually entertaining.

 » Well...

The team that was responsible for the first splinter cell (the best) is also responsible for this one...

They wanted to mix it up and break from the same old sh*t that we've been seeing from the last few games....

Kudos to them for trying something new....and I must say the atmosphere created by the lighting is superb...as well as the crowds that are possible (shot in the park with the newpaper stand is awesome)......

That trailer doesn't do the game any justice. Go here (http://xboxyde.com/leech_3867_1_en.html) to view the 5+min UbisoftDay live floor demostration.

Either stream or download.
