The Club screenshot - Image 1Aching for an arcade-style shooter to break the mold of FPS titles that take themselves seriously? Fret not, because Sega just announced that The Club (Microsoft Xbox 360, Sony PlayStation 3, PC) by developer Bizarre Creations is now in gold status and ready to meet its scheduled February 19 release date.

Made by the same company that brought us the Project Gotham Racing series, The Club promises to combine explosive shooting action with the fast-paced nature of racing games. True enough, as those keeping tabs would know, this visceral shooter is all about shooting everything that moves and setting the fastest record while at it.

Eight seasoned killers, including one who badly needs money to pay his debt and a Nigerian warrior trying to save his village, offer an extended single-player experience as you'll be tempted to try out each of their unique combat techniques. Taking The Club online is not a bad idea neither, since eight multiplayer modes of up to eight players are available.
