Ubisoft Rainbow Six Vegas 2 Xbox 360 PC - Image 1The original Rainbow Six: Vegas was released on the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PlayStation Portable, and the PC. From all indications, it looks like Ubisoft decided not to take a multi-platform approach to the sequel of the game. The company's official website only listed Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six: Vegas 2 on the Xbox 360 and PC.

Ubisoft hasn't given any word on the platform exclusivity of the game, but we can probably expect to hear more about this in the near future.

Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six: Vegas 2 is slated for launch by March of next year. Details on this game have been rather vague but players can expect new gameplay features, better graphics, and even more maps. The official website even stated that the game will "break new ground in both co-op and adversarial modes."

 » Hmm...

I'm really starting to worry a bit about PS3.

I picked up Assassins Creed for it and the damn thing crashed during loading within the first few hours (still, Bioshock had similar issues on 360). I own both consoles, and love them for different reasons, but it seems like the Western industry is stuck in a porting rut for the PS3 (design for the weakest platform and bolt on upgrades for higher spec machines) and the Japanese market can't release enough exclusive PS3 games fast enough to make an impact.

If this doesn't reverse, sharpish, then 360 is going to be the way forward - why buy a game for £5 ($10) more for PS3 when it looks just as good, and is often smoother, on 360?

you probably never said anything good about the original xbox when it first came out...you were probably praising the PS2 and bashing the xbox....and now it's vice versa.....

 » Way Backward

360 will never be the way forward. I work for a store that sells consoles and from my experience 2 out of every 3 XBOX360s that we sell end up coming back because there is something wrong with them. They're terrible machines that Microsoft cares nothing about.

 » hmm funny...

Is that why Microsoft is offering a 3 year warranty on EVERY 360 console? That's weird. If they didn't care then why would they lose money on every console? Hmm, I guess you are right.

then it's really no loss. That game was terrible...on any platform. And this is coming from a lover of Raven Shield.

 » PS3

Is it really suffering?
I think its really a geographical situation. Right now it always a discussion about which games are produced for which system. However this is a very small area because when people look at the shops in Asia the number of games for PS2 are like hundreds to one. For every international release there are countless Japanese and Chinese titles. Many of these games are never reported in the international press or on sites as QJ as these games are seldom or never released with the Western market in mind. To this extent the PS3 will trundle along very well in Asia as there will be plenty of local content that we never here about.
Discussions like how is the 360 doing in Japan, or how is the PS3 doing in USA or Europe are very relevant to the local developers as it gives an indication of the popularity of a particular game. Halo for example was very successful in the fact that almost every japanese xbox owner bought it. This is a higher number than USA when looked at as a percentage.
The style of games are also very different and without insult to the ladies out there the xbox is more masculine in that its highest revenues are coming from action and shooting. The Asian world on the other hand has a far higher number of female users and the PS has always catered for them with countless titles that are for fantasy and role playing. Stories that takes a long time to evolve and the participant must immerse themselves into the respective role. Lots of romance and secrecy are involved. This is something that surfaces only on occasion with the xbox.
I get the feeling that the west like "marvel comics" and the standard stanley kubrick "sarge" but in Asia they like far more the swords and dragons, the games with fantasy and elegance. Look at the PS ladies in the PS games they are often so much better than those on the xbox. And some of the best on the xbox started life in Asia.
Ideas and successes are always being copied and developed further. I for one hope that PS3 get some really good exclusive games because as an xbox user the xbox developers will also sit up and pay attention which means that I can also expect a great new game as each side will try to emulate the success of the other.

» Nothing to really worry about

the ps3 is just going through growing pains.......its been a year and its picking up very good momentum. so what assassins creed is locking thats a developer issue, they will fix it and we will move on...... the ps3 is getting more attention now that COD4 shows it can do complex games; developers will find more room to play over time.
