Lara Croft is now back on track after being caught in an unexpected delay. The first downloadable episode for Tomb Raider: Underworld is now scheduled for a release on February 24.

Bad news for Lara Croft fans. The DLC for Tomb Raider: Underworld has been delayed due to a "technical issue." It won't be available today as was originally planned.

This story first broke last Wednesday when a UK journalist wrote on his twitter account that Eidos’ British PR firm Barrington Harvey sought to prevent any review lower than 8.0/10 for Tomb Raider: Underworld (PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, Wii, DS, PC, PS2) from getting published until three days after the game has launched. Microsoft's getting really aggressive with their tactics. Looks like the exclusive downloadable content for Tomb Raider: Underworld wasn't a case of favoritism towards the Xbox 360; Microsoft approached Crystal Dynamics to make them.

Underworld marks the third game Microsoft got to sink its claws into for exclusive content, after Grand Theft Auto IV, and Fallout 3. The whole thing feels a bit underhanded.

Remember the announcement that the Xbox 360 will get exclusive downloadable content for Tomb Raider: Underworld? If you're a PS3 gamer, don't count on it being a timed exclusive. Eidos has confirmed that the DLC will not - repeat, not  - appear on other consoles. What's more, the demo planned for the game this month is also an Xbox 360 exclusive.

Looks like Eidos is pulling a GTA4 for Tomb Raider: Underworld. According to a press release, they'll will be offering two sets of exclusive downloadable content for the Xbox 360 version of the game. Details after the link.
