Only a $50 price-cut? Well, I hope this applies to the Elite because as soon as they switch to the 65nm processing unit (which I hope should be this fall), I'm crossing the border over to the states because in Canada, although the dollar here is about four cents less than the U.S dollar, retailers still haven't change prices to match the dollar. Anyways, I did a bit of research and it'll cost me about $588 CDN (excluding tax, though I think the sales tax in New York is about 4%, please correct me if I'm wrong New Yorkers) to buy an Elite with Gears and a play and charge kit which is a good deal because it costs $550 CDN (excluding tax) to buy an Elite.

Theyre canadian anyways. They get paid more salary than Americans do because they work in really cold climates, so they have to buy things at a higher price than we do. But its cool if they can cross the border and get one for cheaper. Id do it, but then Id be in mexico (ew)

I actually mis-calculated how much CDN dollars it would take to buy an Elite, Gears and a play and charge kit. I added the US price of the Elite, Gears and the charge kit and I came up with $556. I mulitplied it by 1.04 assuming that the sales tax was 4% and it came up to 578.24. I converted it into CDN and came up with $612.36. Ah, oh well, it'll be cheaper than buying it in Canada. Wait, I just remembered my Uncle from New Jersey set me a $50 American Express Gift card that says USA use only on the back and the year before he sent me $40 US. That's $90 US off! Now let's re-calculate. Okay, so it's $578.25 US, subtract $90 and I come up with $488.24 US and in CDN that's about, $517.05!

Looks like the PS3's temporary sales spike is about to end again!
We'll see what kind of impact this has on the sales, but I'm sure some people were holding out for a price cut and/or the new chips.

And right now, it's burning hot outside, the temperatures are in the 30's and the humidex (which is a Canadian invention, it's a term used for the temperature you feel. Just say the temperature outside is 32°C, it may actually feel more like 35°C. If you want the more scientific definition, look it up in Wikipedia) is very hot. Anyways, not all of Canada has terribly cold weather just like not all of the U.S has the hot Californian weather.
