Football - Image 1Madden NFL 09 (Xbox 360, Wii, PSP, DS, PC, PS3) by EA Sports has been our for a while and there have been little to no whining and moaning about it. Still, the devs are making sure that they keep everyone happy and now we have the first patch for it on the way for the PS3 and Xbox 360.

EA Sports has reportedly passed the patch to Microsoft and Sony for certification and is already working on yet another patch to appease the wishes of the Madden 09 community. A DLC is also planned to smoothen out more features and the word is that it could be free. Here are the details for all three.

Patch 1 details
  • Changed default quarter length of online leagues to 5 minutes.
  • Solved a very rare stability issue that occurred when using a couple of playbooks.
  • Eliminated a button mashing glitch during high latency online games.
  • Eliminated a stability issue that sometimes occurred while viewing the player HUB in online leagues.
  • Fixed a tricky disc eject glitch that occurred at specific points of online games.
  • Kick Return Tuning - made improvements to help reduce frequent long kick returns.
  • Safety Tuning - eliminated issue where safeties in deep zone coverage would sometimes not react to a run to their side.
  • The game skill slider for interceptions was tuned to amplify it’s affect.
Patch 2 possibilities
  • Ghost Juking OOB fix - aka CPU players running out of bounds
  • CPU Accuracy tuning
  • Amplify the field degradation effect (the system is currently working but is hidden by some of our late added post effects)
  • Other post-release community feedback
DLC Possibilities
  • Accelerated Clock
  • CPU Sliders (you would have the all new human sliders as well as a brand new screen of CPU sliders)
  • Legacy Gen Controller Config
  • Madden Community Gamerpics
