Ubisoft - Image 1We previously reported that Ubisoft was branching out with the creation of an animation studio. The company has followed this move by purchasing Hybride Technologies. In case you haven't heard of this studio, it is the same one which worked on 300, Frank Miller's Sin City, and *ahem* the Spy Kids series.

For those of you worrying that Hybride will stop working on films, here's some good news. The studio will continue to work with its film partners. So this means we will still be seeing the studio working on other movie projects.

Yves Guilletmot, the chief executive officer of Ubisoft, spoke about their latest acquisition saying that it furthers their strategy of creating "brands that captivate audiences and to extend those brands to other forms of entertainment". He further added that:

The exceptional quality of the team at Hybride and the expertise of our Ubisoft teams will allow us to create one of the best 3D animation studios in the entertainment industry.
