Radical Entertainment and Sierra Entertainment's Prototype (Sony PlayStation 3, Microsoft Xbox 360, PC) holds much promise as an explosive sandbox title that allows players to go as far as jump from one helicopter to another. Sure sounds good on paper, but does it play well? You can check out this video of gameplay footage taken from the game's early build to decide.

Alex Mercer, the dude who's been a victim of a biological outbreak, can steal choppers in the air and survive exploding tanks - feats that make Tommy Vercetti look like he's living in his own little world of nice things. Radical Entertainment's Chris Ansell talks about what's happening on screen and how co-op will roll in Prototype's hectic action-packed streets, so you don't want to miss the video embedded below.

Wow, that's great for an early build! I can't wait to see how it is when they touch up the foot stuff as well

I happened to just stumble apon Xplay the other night when they showed a demo of the game being played and I thought it looked fugly and they had lots of issues with controls.

 » Cool.

Co-op and Free roaming, i wonder if its like GTA free roaming. If thats the case this game will be awesome. I hope we could do whether we want like instead of only playing missions then this game has a potential of being a better GTA clone.

It definitely needs a boost in graphics that's for sure the leading character needs more realistic animation and a huge boost in polygons..and maybe more environment damage like when he shot 2 missiles on the building nothing realistic happened... maybe some craters on the ground etc...

 » It's only a 20% demo

didn't u hear the guy talking saying it's only 20% done so they have like 80% more to go wait untill they get to 50 - 60% done I bet chu it'll look crazier then it was shown now..

That's why I'm ''suggesting'' my own improvements based on my tastes...which is intense environmental distraction and absurdly high number of polygons....

 » I agree

with you constantiency. I'd like to see some realism for this kind of a game, and of couse more graphics. The storyline seems good so far so I dont want the game to be messed up by gameplay and graphics. The animations side all I can say is there heading in a right (different) direction so far.

 » Can someone...

explain why my post has 2 stars. Whats wrong with the sandbox titles, this is what Prototype going to be. And if so it can be a GTA clone, or perhaps evolving the Sandbox Genre. This is actually pretty good for being 20% in, although it does need work, i never expected this demo to be crazy good in 20% thats just wishful thinking.

You really shouldn't have an opinion on how good this game will be in 20% done. Its like in pre-alpha stage sort of.

This game, for as early as it is, still looks pretty intense. I am very much looking forward to this one.
