Xbox 360 w/ HD DVD drive - Image 1  According to Major Nelson, the Xbox 360 HD-DVD player has received a price cut. The peripheral is now available for US$ 129.99 in North America, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand.

Considering the unit was previously tagged at US$ 179.99, this seems like a pretty good deal. However, it might be good to do a little research on the HD-DVD format and the current offerings available before investing your hard earned money.

That said, if you've been looking for an affordable HD-DVD player, this is the chance you've been waiting for. Enjoy!

Can't you buy a stand alone player for $30 more? I never thought MS made their player a very attractive purchase. It never should have cost more than $150 to begin with.

agreed...All my DVD collection are normal DVD's anyway at this point. I am pretty satisfied with the quality of regular DVD's on my 1080i 48" TV...
