John Porcaro, Microsoft employee, has written a summary of the Xbox 360 marketing campaign, in response to recent complaints from bloggers about Microsoft’s continued advertising when there is no product supply. It is an interesting read, and you can’t help but find yourself agreeing with many of the points. Check it out [here].

First off this guy is a PR man, Needing MTV, since when? Gamers will buy what they like and not because of who likes it, Paris and the other yah-who's-who that received the 2 systems for the bubble dont make a impact on whos gonna buy the system. Maybe some gum snapping wanna be will ask day-warbucks to buy it since she thnks its "HOT" like Paris, but for the 99% that want this system, I dont care about MTV or Paris.
As far as the days leading to Xmasas being a blip on the screen, thats the most important time, you launched with the intention of hitting the holiday shopper and you failed, BADLY!
You wish you could speed production, how about plan better for production. You honestly expect US customers to believe noone in MS had an idea that this system would sell alot? You must be kidding, and if they did have an idea, then why wasnt this launch either delayed until the proper amount could have been shelved and let go on a release date or production started earlier? Planning, you failed on this too. I understand you want a world-wide launch, but if you dont take care of those who took care of you with the Xbox, your in trouble. The US market carried the Xbox and should have been given some sort of thank you guesture instead of a shortage and excuses at to why we cant find a 360.

So we have to be lucky or persistant in order to get a 360, are you kidding me? Look stop blowing smoke up peoples butts, "Without you, we wouldnt be where we are today" Well maybe instead of excuses, 360's should be on the shelf. Who cares about a couple months when they will be available, you were to hit the market target, Xmas, see, thats people with money and usually not a care about how much they spend in order to make someone happy. You screwed this launch up and in a couple months, you wont hit that target anymore. By then people will be thinking about summer and being outdoors and spending money that way. By then you'll only have the hardcore crowd left. I hope you learn your lesson from this one. See, when the US carries this system again, dont make the same mistake.
