Forza 2 MotorSport - Image 1

There's a certain thread in the Forza Motorsport 2 forums that's already reached a whopping 60 pages, and it's all about the random glitching, crashing and overall just weird behavior of the game while it's being played. While a few bugs and crashes can be chalked up to a careless glitch, there's even a few reports of the game actually causing owners' 360s to contract the all-too-horrifying red ring of death - which means that there's something not quite right with Forza 2. Let's dig a bit deeper to see what the posters are actually going through.

Reading the thread, we find out that the crashes happen randomly at any point in the game. Some posters report the game crashing during offline races, others while purchasing or painting new cars. A few even reported the game crashing even while there's no visible activity at all, such as during loading screens or just looking at your own cars.

It's to note that the users who have reported these incidents have made it clear that they've taken steps to ensure that their consoles have been properly taken care of and are very well-ventilated during play, as well as not having any problems of the sort with other high-end games for the Xbox 360.

Another alarming post comes from poster srt4turbo2004 - saying that Forza 2 has pretty much forced him to change consoles, with the same result of the game crashing. He also noted that the crashes are telegraphed by a grinding noise, a noise that occur ed even with a fresh-out-of-the-box console. Weird.

We can only hope that Turn10 addresses this issue and fast. Forza Motorsport 2 clearly has a lot of fans who want to enjoy the game as much as they could, and are disappointed that these crashes are preventing them from doing so. Updates as we get them.

Thanks to Mike for the tip!

 » no problem here

i have 2 consoles and 2 forza2, no issue here at all. i've played the game for hours. during one session the machines were on for around 8 hours non stop (taking lenghty breaks in between without turning off the game and consoles).

 » Please fix it

My freezes a lot randomly. I have my powerbrick on two peice of granite stone and I have a fan blowing on my 360. Yet i still get random crashes. It always happens right after I finish a race and before it saves. Then ihave to do the race all over again. It must suck for the people that have been making cars and it crashes in the middle of making one. I wouldbe pissed. I hope this gets resolved fast. Its starting to piss me off.

8 hours is bull. It wil overheat easily.

 » trolling more

I was trolling looking for bashing articles and Jackpot!

Wow that's crap!

M$ is crap. It's their consoles, they all break. Buy a PS3 instead. It's a "total entertainment system." Unless of course you plan on playing games on it.

That's my dumbass comment for the day.

 » Are you joking.

Yeah um im not lying out my ass. What I said is for real. Everytime I play it. I atleast have to restart my 360 twice before stops freezing. You can think that im some PS3 fanboy that is just bashing 360. I dont care. But this is the truth. Plus my main system isnt even 360. Im a hardcore PC gamer.

» Here is how to make MS listen

MS were very smart at making sure all warranty issues came back through them, rather than bothering retailers. They knew the 360 was faulty when they made it.

But this is what you do if you have problem, DO NOT ring up MS, take it back to retailer and demand a refund. They will not want to do this but it is well within your consumer rights. Go and pick up another 360 at a different retailer, till you get one that works.

MS may not want to listen to we the consumers, but they will sure listen if retailers stop stocking 360s on their shelves.

» forza 2 killed my system

I bought Forza 2, it ask me to update the game, so I did and when it reboot, I got the rings of death. I called Microsoft and they said that my warranty had been expired and had to pay. This was 2 weeks ago and I still cant get my xbox360 back. I was told I had to wait 7 working days to get my system but no luck. As much as I liked microsoft, I am starting to dislike them as something very similar happen in the past with the game crackdown. Did anyone experienced the same issues?

http://www.*****.com/264543

in a nutshell, fill out surveys and get money for doing so....to protect ur privacy:

-make a private internet phoneline on www.privatephone.com so u wont get calls from telemarketers

-make a separate email address for spam, because thats pretty much all you'll be getting

-if u wanna make even more money, buy a visa gift card so u can fill out the surveys/complete offers that require u to put in credit information. These offers payout more cash to u.

Also, u can refer ppl to this site...and if the ppl u refer continue to fill out surveys, u can make %20 of wat they make (and no, they dont lose cash because of you, u are just making an extra %20) and u can make %10 of who they refer.

give it a try because honestly, its fool proof and theres nothin to lose. Just use the link i provided and give it a try

» This is all a trick by MS

You're all being led down the money road by ms. They should of fixed this crap with the Elite. I own a PS3 and it'll last me way past MS's NEWER console they will have to make soon, because all their old one's died. Have fun fanboys supporting a company that's costing you online and console repairs. One japanese guy is smarter then probably half the stalf at MS. haha PS3>XREDdeath

 » ps3 is ...

hey u all have to except it..no 1 cares for graphics.all people wants is to have good games on a system weither its ps3 or xbox360 like xbox 1 had better graphics than ps2 but even then people loved to buy ps2 coz it had more titles..everyone saying..ps3 have more potential and cell processor is a beast..i agree...BUT a system potential depends upon how they program the game..for example.gow is known as the best graphics ever made its on 360..so they used well the xbox capabilities to make gears of war..Potential depends upon the programing of the game on the system....CELL processor is a beast,,,its of no use cause they cant use its capabilities coz its hard to program..thats y xbox and wii is outselling ps3

 » WHY?!

does every thread end in fanboys fighting each other. THe site is for 360 enthusiasts. I have a friend who has a ps3 and doesnt play it at all, he prefers the 360. On the other hand my 360 has had the 3 red lights once, i sent it away, got it back a week later and it has been great since. The post is about forza causing bugs. I have had the problem of people joining my rooms ALOT, i have open NAT and have all ports forwarded, have a fast internet connection etc and still some people cant join my rooms. THere definately needs to be a patch of some sort.

 » Forza2, Xbox killer?

My 2nd 360 just died on me a few days ago and while it did not die on me right away (it started freezing while in games before it got 3ROD), problems did start while I was playing Forza2.

Do I think that the Xbox 360 design sucks? Yes, there is definitely something wrong with MS's quality control or design. But that is no denying the quality of games on the console.

 » WTF!

My xbox hasn't died but I have noticed since I got Forza the day after it came out that there are some problems. I've had it say the disc was unreadable but then be ok. I had xbox live voice not work in a game but I could send messages to friends with the mic. I've been sent to a live race with no body else in it after a race was finished. I've had problems logging on to a friends game. I've tried to make a game and nothing happens, it just loads for like 5 minutes then says one guy was racing by himself. I hope my machine doesn't die cause I've had it happen before with the 360 and it sucks plus I love Forza.

 » Mine freezes

I don't have a lot of time that I can spend playing Forza 2 and it still crashes. The first day I got it the thing crashed on the first screen. Even last night I was playing for less than 20 min and it froze right at the end of a race. So I loaded it back up and had to race the track all over. Now this was a simple race say 5 laps, but still a pain. The issue happened when watching the replay. The streets looked like the clowds or the grass did as soon as I noticed this I knew it was going to crash. This is not the first time I have seen this one of the times it happened while I was driving. The streets turned to clowds...

They need to fix this I am very concerned that my xbox 360 will end up being a coaster.

I am not a ps3 fan either I played GTHD, and although the graphics are amazing (way better than forza 2) the driving sucked. It was not a simulator by any means and nothing compares to Forza 2 when its working...
