Xbox LIVE Status: It looks like Xbox Live's connection woes aren't quite over just yet. Major Nelson's updated with another sit-rep regarding the Live team's progress resolving the service's issues, which was either forcibly ejecting users or preventing them from going online at all.

Major Nelson explained that they've made good progress with the fixes, with less users now experiencing the said problems. Quoting the update:

As people have noticed, we have made good progress. We have a bit more work to do, but we’re doing much better now. I know some of you still may be having issues, and we’re working on those. Oh, and Happy New Year to those that are celebrating.

That takes care of the general update, though we imagine that Live's Gold members are going to be asking for some sort of compensation. According to an inquiry by Torrence Davis of The Bit Bag site, Microsoft's taken this into consideration, and will have something prepped in the near future. No other details were provided. That's the latest info we've got regarding this matter, though you may want to keep an ear on the ground for any possible updates.
