Xbox Live's Major Nelson is here once more to get us informed on what people are playing the most on Microsoft's very excellent online gaming scene, and the numbers are very telling as far as which game is most popular is concerned. So who made it to the top, beating Halo 3 and even Call of Duty 4 (Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PC)?

Why, none other than Rockstar's very excellent Grand Theft Auto IV (Xbox 360, PlayStation 3), of course - and when you consider that it pretty much beat out every other triple-A title on its bracket, the sandbox-roaming game has definitely been accepted by the players.

As for the other brackets, they had their own share of upsets, as well. Lost Cities, a game that recently debuted and earned top spot in the arcade titles ranking, is nowhere to be found this week - replaced instead by Brain Challenge, and followed by DOOM and UNO. As for the original Xbox, Halo 2 is still sitting pretty at the number one slot, with Battlefield 2: MC and Star Wars: Battlefront 2 close behind.

Here's the complete list:

Xbox 360 Top Live Titles (based on UU’s)
  1. GTA IV

  6. Call of Duty 3
  7. Street Fighter Anniv.
  8. Madden NFL 08

While there's certainly a lot of good online multiplayer games on the list, you have to admit that a feature that lets you play around in the videogame equivalent of New York City with your own friends is certainly worth commending. Updates as we get them!
