Xbox Live Fall Update - friends list view of others activated - Image 1 Microsoft is sending out word that it is incorporating another feature for the Xbox Live online service to go live with the Dashboard Fall Update on December 4.

Accordingly, you can now check the friends list of other gamers right on the Dashboard. This update will definitely make it a lot easier for gamers to track and check one another, making Xbox Live more like a social networking area.

Here's a part of Microsoft's official announcement:

Members can find old friends or connect with new ones within the community of more than eight million people on Xbox Live around the globe and send messages and game invites, as well as compare games and Achievements.

Starting December 4, this new feature will be the default setting on Xbox Live. If you want to keep the previous setting, however, should do the following starting now or before the scheduled update:
  • Log in to "www.xbox.com/fof" and select one of the three options available for your Gamertag:
    • Everyone (only available to members 18 and older)
    • Friends only (available to members 13 and older)
    • Blocked (available to all members, and automatic for anyone under the age of 13)

I think it's not to exciting and kinda sad that this is the big feature that they're pushing for the update

I wish they'd finally add an internet browser. Other than that, it's near perfect.

Yet another nice feature. I'm still waiting for the meat & potato's of this update. This is going to make it a bit harder for me to hide from certain undesirables. We all have a couple of guys on the friends list that we try to avoid.

I think is really a cool feature, I wish they add a search or something like social networkings like facebook or myspace just to find people near me...

 » Service

I use the title description deliberately. This is another small addition that continues to implement the service which is Xbox Live. The thread was of course a few days ago but this helps illustrate the comments made by MS that their online service was head and shoulders above competition.
I would suggest the QJ implement in their daily articles some pointers to other relevant news posts as this would bring areas of related interest together.
regards from Shanghai and happy gaming to all.
