Major Nelson has announced that Xbox Live will be undergoing scheduled maintenance this April 21 from 2:00 A.M. to 10:00 A.M. PT.

This means that players will not be able to access the My Xbox section of Xbox.com. In addition, players will not be able to post in the Xbox forums. The other services will, however, be unaffected and accessible.

Much to our disappointment, Major Nelson made clear that this downtime is for "server maintenance only" and that the service won't be getting any new features. While this announcement may sadden some members of the community, we have to remember that regular maintenance is necessary to keep the service up and running. As they say, cleanliness is next to godliness.
