Xbox LIVE Status - Image 1

Having problems trying to hook up your Microsoft Xbox 360 to Xbox Live? You're not alone, because according to Xbox Live's service status, "Users may experience intermittent issues when attempting to connect to Xbox Live." Apparently, many users are getting kicked off the service, while some simply can't connect at all.

It's easy to imagine how tough it is to maintain XBL when countless of gamers are spending their holidays playing online, but the real reason behind connection issues are yet to be determined. What Microsoft can be certain about is that "engineers are continuing to investigate and are working to resolve this issue."

It appears that not all regions are affected, because some people claim they can connect to Xbox Live with no problems. Others get disconnected from time to time, and it has been occurring for hours now. Our eyes are peeled for any official updates, so watch this space!

UPDATE: Over on Major Nelson's blog, he's reporting that the Operations team in charge of handling the issue has managed to track down the issue and address it. That being said, you should be able to log onto Xbox Live without any problems now.
