We have received assurance from Rockstar Games that they are working on the freezing problems of Grand Theft Auto 4 (Xbox 360, PlayStation 3). Sony Computer Entertainment of America (SCEA) is also working on the issue for their PlayStation 3 community but they have maintained that only a "limited number" has been struck with this problem.
