Joystiq is reporting that there will be a BioShock novel, thanks to the collaboration of Take-Two Interactive and sci-fi/ fantaasy publisher Tor. According to their scoop, the novel will consist of 400 pages, and will come out in both hard and softcovers.

2K Games has finally set your date with Big Daddy, but just like a real date juggler, the Big Daddies of BioShock 2 won't be ringing doorbells on the same night. The announcement was made during the publisher's conference call to discuss second quarter financial results, and it was Take Two CEO Ben Feder who made the confirmation. Answering an earnings call, GameStop exec David W. Carlson reveals the release of four major titles by October and November. Noting that GameStop is a US retailer, the only conclusion we can make out of the info is that the release margins are for the US, and we can only speculate on how it's gonna be for other regions. A recent press release revealed that multiplayer in BioShock 2 will serve as a sort of prequel to the series, giving players a chance to experience the fall of the underwater city of Rapture.
