A new Modern Warfare game is in the works, according to a Twitter post by Infinity Ward's community manager. Anyone surprised the game's getting a sequel? Didn't think so.

Unfortunately, there won't be any more DLCs coming your way for Call of Duty 4 (PS3, Xbox 360, PC). But why would Infinity Ward pull such a mean stunt? Well, it's more of unfortunate than mean, actually. But there's actually a very good reason for this move.

Doug Creutz with Cowen and Company believe, through their research note that Call of Duty: World at War (PS3, Xbox 360, Wii, DS) will sell 5.5 million copies during its lifetime in the US. Good news or bad? Apparently, this is a 32.4% year-on-year decline from Call of Duty 4 Modern Warfare (PS3, Xbox 360, PC).

The NPD Group has released a compiled list of the top five best-selling games for each of the consoles. The report tracks sales data from the start of this year all the way up until August. Wondering which games made it to the lists? I'm sure some of you won't be surprised to see this or that title part of the list. Lots of acronym-friendly games chucked in, of course!

Xbox 360 gamers will be earning double XP in Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare (PC, PS3, Xbox 360) this weekend along with some DLC promos on the Marketplace. PS3 gamers will also get their own Double XP Weekend, but schedule conflicts have pushed it back to a later date. More in the full article.

After packing up from the Microsoft offices, Bungie may have a thing or two to learn from Infinity Ward's Call of Duty 4 (PC, Xbox 360, PS3). Bungie Lead AI Programmer Damian Isla mentioned he admires CoD4's performance against their own Halo 3 as the most played game on Xbox Live. More in our full article.

Activision's Call of Duty 4 may not have seen a Wii release, but that hasn't stopped the game from topping sales charts.
