Because we can't get enough racing games, THQ will be giving us Cars Mater-National as a sequel to Cars. Some of you guys probably grabbed Cars recently off the budget bin for the PS2, PSP, and Xbox 360, but it's never too soon to take a look at its successor.

Well, what can we say? This is Cars, so there are wacky vehicles with faces and personalities. The video below shows us snippets of the gameplay, showing off the various environments players will be competing in. There are also some sweet ramps and little tricks that clearly tag the title as an arcade racer.

The game is set to appear on the PS3, Wii, 360, PS2, DS, and GBA this autumn. For those interested in adding a new decent looking racer to your library, check out the gameplay montage embed.

  

Sequel to last year's Cars game based on the Disney-Pixar movie of the same title, Cars Mater-National is vroom-vroom-vrooming its way to the PS3, Wii, 360, PS2, DS, and GBA platforms later this year. While the first game got glowing reviews - bagging in a couple of awards along the way - this sequel could follow up pretty well on its previous installment.

Offering all-new cars, fierce races against Lightning McQueen himself, and mini-games all around Radiator Springs, this game is set to expand the horizons of the franchise.

Above and below, we've got the first batch of screens for Cars Mater-National, as seen on the PS2 and Xbox 360 platforms. THQ is gearing up for a release of this racing title for Autumn.

   

Publisher THQ is very happy to announce that the video game title Cars has been made a discount title across almost all platforms. This means that the PlayStation 2 and PlayStation Portable versions have been added to the "Greatest Hits" basket while the Xbox360 version can now found in the "Platinum Hits" basket.

If you really want to know, even the GameCube (GC) version is now a part of "Player's Choice" retail program.

THQ decided to come up with a sequel called Cars Mater-National for the 360, Wii and PlayStation 3 platforms. Disney Interactive Studios Exec. VP and GM Graham Hopper commented:

We are excited by the tremendous success the Cars franchise has achieved across the world on multiple video game platforms. Our successful and long-standing relationship with THQ has delivered a strong portfolio of Disney/Pixar titles that have become family favorites for gamers of all ages.

The original Cars is now available across all platforms at a suggested retail price of US$ 19.99. On the other hand, the new title Cars Mater-National is expected to careen around retail stores this fall. It will also be available on PS2, Nintendo DS, and GBA platforms.
