CM07 - Image 1Listen up, managers! There's a new patch in town for Eidos Interactive's Championship Manager 2007. Now, although it won't be coming to town til March 16, it's never too early to get a good headstart. Anyhow, here's a list of some of things added:
  • Player and staff data updated up to the close of the January 2007 transfer window.
  • Added FA Cup Second and Third qualifying rounds.
    • regionalised rounds
    • teams are split into northern and southern sections.
  • Updated Paint competition
    • teams are sub-divided into four regional sections for round one
      • Northern (west), Northern (east), Southern (west) and Southern (east) with 16 byes consisting of 8 teams from the northern section and 8 teams from the southern section.

 As for the fixed bugs:

  • The user was being sent a domestic transfer email when in charge of a national side only
  •  Mismatch of parameter types when creating an email
  •  Team was entered twice into a European competition due to the rescheduling of a fixture in another competition
  •  Contract renewal offer was processed after a manager had left the club

There's more awaiting over at the Via link, so if you're interested in checking them out, just click on the link below. Oh, and you can download the patch from right here as well. Enjoy!

It's been quite a while since we were last updated about the recent goings on in Eidos Interactive's soccer management game, Championship Manager 2007.

Eidos must've noticed this lack in game promotion too, as they've just released a new batch of screens for both the Xbox360 and PSP versions. As you know, Championship Manager will be heading back to your handhelds with a brand new look and even more new skins to make it refreshing on your eyes. Like the ones you see in these PSP screens:

Now just in case you've forgotten, here are some of the features you can look forward to seeing in Championship Manager 2007:

  • several Challenge Modes
  • traditional 20-season play mode
  • behind the scenes
  • comprehensive new transfer system that allows intricate player negotiations
  • innovative and dynamic news and media system
  • comprehensive player and club data
  • a refined match AI system
  • two new English leagues: Conference North and South

Championship Manager 2007 is still under development at Beautiful Game's labs and is slated for a European release this March.

Check out some more of them screens after the jump!

Eidos Interactive - Image 1

Eidos Interactive has recently announced that they are now developing sequels for some of their most popular game franchises. To be specific, we can soon be expecting next-gen installments for the games Just Cause, Tomb Raider, Hitman, and Championship Manager. These sequels are expected to make their appearances on the PS3 and the Xbox 360. As for WHEN we would actually be able to expect these new games, Eidos remains vague:

In the light of the launch of the Sony PlayStation 3 in North America in November 2006 and its planned European launch in Spring 2007 we are assessing the timing of when to launch these titles on the appropriate next generation platforms.

The sequel to the third-person shooter Just Cause has already been announced back in October last year, and even though we have no idea on how far along this project is, Eidos assures everyone that it has already been in development, and that they "expect Just Cause to sell over one million units in the current financial year".

And so once again, the waiting begins.

CM 07 PSP

Eidos Interactive has confirmed that Championship Manager 2007 will be released on the PS2, Xbox 360, and the PSP in the first quarter of 2007. This installation promises to be totally new in terms of the look and the intuitive control system, making it even more playable than before.

For the Xbox 360, there will be the Xbox Live in Online Battle Mode Matches where players can battle it out with each other head-to-head. You can also download season data, as well as new Challenges. You can even compare your Manager Profile and Achievement Points with your friends online. Same thing goes for the PSP version. There's the Battle Mode via wi-fi play where you can go one-on-one with friends in friendly competition.

For Championship Manager 2007, managers are now given the ability to design their own set piece drills on the tactics pitch and then use them in a match. Apart from this, they could now also interact with the teams by giving motivational talks both before and during matches.

Additional features are as follows:
  • several Challenge Modes
  • traditional 20-season play mode
  • behind the scenes
  • intense backroom staff of improvements:
    • comprehensive new transfer system that allows intricate player negotiations
    • innovative and dynamic news and media system
    • comprehensive player and club data
    • a refined match AI system
    • 2 new English leagues: Conference North and South
