Like a scene straight off Michael Jackson's Thriller music video. Only, they're in a place that looks like Vegas, and the zombies are up to a whopping 7,000 in number. And, Michael Jackson isn't here. This is what we're seeing today with this new Dead Rising 2 (Xbox 360, PS3, PC) E3 2009 trailer from Capcom.

Dead Rising 2 executive producer Keiji Inafune has now officially canceled his E3 appearance. With the top guy not attending, Dead Rising 2 will also not be making an appearance at the event.

Sweet! 6,000 zombies on screen and now multiplayer too? Yummy. Yes, after some confusion at GDC, turns out Dead Rising 2 will be getting multiplayer after all. This was confirmed by series creator Keiji Inafune last week at Captivate '09, but the now question is: what type of multiplayer will it be? Left 4 Dead Rising 2, ey?

Exit, Frank West. Enter, Chuck Greene. Yep, Chuck's the motorcycle jacket-wearing dude that we've been seeing so much of in the Dead Rising 2 (Xbox 360, PS3, PC) assets that Capcom has so far deemed fit for public consumption. Learn more details about the game after the jump.

Are 6,000 zombies not enough for you? Or is it a task too daunting for one man alone? If you're thinking more of the latter, then here's some good news: apparently, Blue Castle is readying that number for Dead Rising 2's multiplayer mode.

Ever since we finally got confirmation of Dead Rising 2, we never really had much news for it. That's ok though since the Blue Castle devs showed up in the GDC. There, they discussed the technology behind their upcoming zomebie game, with character art lead Izmeth Siddeek saying that they're taking great effort to push the barriers of rendering huge numbers of objects on-screen at a given time. What's their goal though? 6000 zombies on-screen? It's not as high as Goku's power level, but damn, that's still a huge number!

Har har harrr. The leaked video from the other day is legit! Guess what dropped into the press wire today, huh? A complete press kit confirming Dead Rising 2, complete with pics and the viral video published over the weekend! What's more is that the sequel is now confirmed for the Xbox 360, PS3, and PC! Yay for Capcom!

Zombies on a plane? Naw. Samuel L. Jackson is busy. Zombies in a casino hotel, however? Maybe. That's if this supposedly leaked trailer for (the supposedly multiplatform) Dead Rising 2 is any indication. Heck, let's throw in rolling hamster balls and Frank West in his Megaman suit too, while we're at it.

Kotaku reports that in the latest issue of Japanese gaming mag Famitsu, Capcom exec Keiji Inafune has mentioned sequels for two of Capcom's big games: Dead Rising and Lost Planet (PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, PC). A Capcom UK rep, however, has asked everyone that Inafune's statements might not be the final word.
