Koei's futuristic racer for the Xbox 360 is more than just squealing wheels and trading paint. If your idea of action is setting lap records, then step back. Fatal Inertia is beyond high speed vehicles - only those that can defy gravity and fire weapons that manipulate force, velocity, and time will stand victorious.
In these videos, we see various hovercrafts break 500mph while trying to make their way through dangerous tracks. Going at it by the river requires some serious skill and the ability to make sharp turns as shown in River Race Gameplay. Next up is Hover Racing Gameplay, which seems to take place around a small island. The game's spectacular environments are showcased, but there seems to be no time to pause and enjoy the scenery when enemies are tailing with weapons that make swoop racers cry. For those who are yet to grab a copy even when Fatal Inertia is already on shelves, here are some convincing videos that could lead you to dishing out some dough. Fatal Inertia has officially gone gold for the Xbox 360. The gravity defying racing game powered by the Unreal Engine 3 will be arriving in the US on September 11, right on schedule. The new racer from KOEI still has its demo up for the Xbox 360 if you can't wait until the release. The demo features single player and two player split screen modes. The actual game will be featuring an 8-player multiplayer mode on Xbox Live or System Link. The game will have 51 courses with 6 different racing environments. Still no word on the release date for the PlayStation 3 version, but we'll post it as soon as we get the news! |

August saw the Xbox 360 release of a demo for the futuristic gravity-defying racing game Fatal Inertia.
Today, we learned that Koei will be making the same demo available to
European shores tomorrow. As much as that is good news, we still can't
help but wonder whatever happened to the title's PlayStation 3 version.
Anyway to help tide you guys over, here is a new batch of screenshots for Fatal Inertia courtesy of gaming site CVG. Like always, the graphics are looking sleek and sharp - only fitting for a futuristic racing game. Take note that this is not a straight-up racer because demolition derby is very much part of it. Fatal Inertia is scheduled to be released on the Xbox 360 platform this coming September 11. We hope to hear about the PS3 build sometime soon. See the rest of the screenshots after the jump! |

We're sure some of you have downloaded and tried the Fatal Inertia demo on your Xbox 360s, but in case you haven't, we have a couple of gameplay videos for you.
Koei's Fatal Inertia is a futuristic racer that mixes insane speeds, hovercrafts, and a sort of midair demolition derby. In the videos, we see just that. We see a couple of ship choices from the videos - a big hulking one and a smooth and sleek looking model. Your ship of choice should depend of your racing style, like if you want to go and bash your opponents to smithereens, it would be best to take the big and hulking hovercraft (which looks like it has the hull integrity of a tank), right? Anyway, check out the two Fatal Inertia trailers and tell us what you think. By the way, the PlayStation 3 version is still stamped with the dreaded "indefinite delay", but we're going to keep our hopes up anyway. The second video awaits at the Full Article. |

Ready for some fast, futuristic, and fierce racing? Earlier, Major Nelson announced that the demo release of Koei's Fatal Inertia has gone live on Xbox Live.So what can we expect from the upcoming video game, Fatal Inertia (PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360)? In case you've been considering the underside of a rock as a dwelling place, Fatal Inertia is a futuristic racing game (imagine WipEout Pulse, though much bigger in terms of vehicles and tracks) that mixes demolition derby, racing, and futuristic vehicles. Anyway, the Fatal Inertia demo is available for Japan and U.S., weighing in at 380.09MB. Check out the game on your Xbox 360s. The PlayStation 3 version, on the other hand, is still in limbo. |

Buckle up and take a wild ride aboard a 23rd century hovercar with Fatal Inertia. The game's developers have been working hard on this prospect and it's shows in how these screens look right now. Set in the far future where extreme vehicle combat sports are taking the world by storm, Fatal Inertia will show more than just fancy lighting and breakneck frame rates. The Unreal Engine 3 will be put to another test as physics play a key role in the mayhem. Terrain and environments are fully destructible, allowing players to use it along with some strategy to their advantage. Fatal Inertia by Koei is one of the anticipated titles in the works for next-generation consoles. The game was originally penned as a Sony PlayStation 3 exclusive but was later announced for the Microsoft Xbox 360. The PS3 version was reported as being cancelled, however, official announcements suggest that the title is just under indefinite delay. See more new Fatal Inertia screens after the jump! |

While announcements regarding the fate of the PlayStation 3 version of Koei's Fatal Inertia (PS3 and Xbox 360) have yet to come, the company is still pumping out quite a lot of screenshots of the game. This new batch of pretty pictures features more looks at the various caverns, ice and molten lava courses found in the game. You can also check out this previous QJ.NET article for more screenshots of Fatal Inertia. You can also check out the E3 2007 trailer here. Fatal Inertia is currently slated for a September 11 release on the Microsoft Xbox 360 video game console. The PlayStation 3 version is apparently still indefinitely delayed due to "the progress of the game engine for the PS3". More screenshots behind the Full Article link! |

We're sure you've watched the E3 trailer for Koei's futuristic racing video game, Fatal Inertia for the Xbox 360. Well, we have another batch of eye candy for you in the form of screenshots. Zooming around at insane speeds and being kept busy by rockets and other dangerous projectiles might keep you from enjoying the scenery in Fatal Inertia. We must say that the tracks on this upcoming title is impressive. We see tracks around a coast, a lake of molten lava, tree-lined mountains, icebergs, and craggy mountains. Feel free to click the thumbnails to see what we mean. There hasn't been any announcements about the PlayStation 3 version for Fatal Inertia, but we'll keep our fingers crossed. Hopefully, it moves away from the "delayed indefinitely" category into the "out on shelves" one. Stay tuned for more news and info about the fast and furious title right here. In the meantime, check out the screenshots to see if they are to your liking.

Koei Canada's Fatal Inertia may be low and humble, having no talks about it outside being a 360 exclusive, but it's not exactly down to earth. Some of you may already have had that impression on the game, but here's the game's E3 2007 trailer to prove a point. And if the trailer isn't detailed enough, you could always opt for the HD version.
Koei Senior VP Amos Ip puts it simply as "bringing high-speed fun and excitement back to the combat racing genre." True enough, we see things get hectic as the hovercraft-based vehicles attempt to knock competition off track at full speed. Another sweet feature is how much customization they allow on your ride - not only can you make it look wild, but also equip it with weapons that can manipulate time, provide powerful boosts, or simply the ability to nail others to the ground. Admit it: you want a piece of crazy, futuristic racing. Fatal Inertia's September 11 release date is still a few ways to go, and a PS3 version is nowhere in sight, but we've got this E3 video at least. Beggars can't be choosers, I would say. |

After delaying it for a couple of months, Koei has finally confirmed a concrete release date for its gravity-defying racing Fatal Inertia. However, we guess the original plan of having a simultaneous release for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 no longer stands as the confirmation, which was done via a press release, specifically mentioned Microsoft's console. It seems that Koei Senior VP Amos Ip couldn't wait as he mentioned, "Armed with an eclectic variety of weapons and racing challenges, plus elegant and intuitive driver controls, Fatal Inertia is quite simply bringing high-speed fun and excitement back to the combat racing genre." Speaking about features, the title sports a lot of new improvements that will leave fans gushing. One such example is Fatal Inertia's customize feature that allows players to modify each ship to compliment their gameplay style. Lead Game Designer Michael Bond added: Designing Fatal Inertia's gameplay around a physics engine helped us create dynamic weapons with multiple tactical applications. We've based many of the game's weapons on straightforward physical principles, and by doing so we're giving players the freedom to come up with their own creative ways of using them. While waiting for September 11 and the release date confirmation for the PS3 version, here are new Fatal Inertia screenshots for both platforms. See the rest of the screenshots after the jump! |
