Xbox 360 - Image 1Two new Xbox 360 demos have been added to the Xbox Live Marketplace. Unfortunately for gamers in North America, these free demos are not available on the U.S. Marketplace.

First is the Japan-only demo for Guilty Gear 2: Overture. This Xbox 360 title from Arc System Works is the first title in the fighting series to utilize 3D graphics. The demo description describes the game as a mix between the action and RTS genres.

A North American release date for Guilty Gear 2: Overture has yet to be announced. It's currently slated for a November 29 release in Japan.

Next up is the Looney Tunes: ACME Arsenal demo. Available only in European Xbox Live regions, Looney Tunes: ACME Arsenal is a 3d action/adventure title based on the classic Looney Tunes series. Looney Tunes: ACME Arsenal is now out in the U.S. A demo for the game was released on the U.S. Marketplace early this month.

QJ.NET TGS 2007 banner - Image 1If you're not a fan and thought Arc System Works has been milking Guilty Gear too much by releasing different versions with not much substantial improvements, then Guilty Gear 2 Overture may catch your attention. As Japan's favorite fighting game series enters the next-gen scene, it also transforms into an action game for Xbox 360. Take a peek by checking out the trailer shown at Tokyo Game Show 2007.

Guilty Gear and 3D in one sentence would've sounded ridiculous a couple of years ago, but it happened. Sol Badguy will take up arms once more, but not in glorious 2D.

In this video, you'll see him hacking and slashing along with newcomers Sin, Izuna, Dr. Paradigm, and Valentine. Some of the game's features are also introduced, like hectic melee action and split screen mayhem.

Are you ready? Followers of Guilty Gear would cringe at the thought of the series breaking from its roots, but many would feel guilty pleasure after watching the video below. So, without further ado, let's rock!

Guilty Gear 2: Overture scan - Image 1

In what could be seen as a move to keep up with the times, or simply a move to inject new life into the series, it seems that the folks behind the beat-em-up with the distinctly-random anime edge, Guilty Gear, have opted to give the next iteration of the series a massive makeover - and with massive, we mean making the jump from one-on-one combat to third person slash-em-up. With massive, we mean going from 2D to glorious, next-gen 3D that's exclusive only to the Xbox 360.

Now, before you cry shenanigans, yes, we know that the Guilty Gear series has always been known for its glorious 2D sprites and a revolutionary gameplay system that not only allowed you to pummel opponents with a wicked-looking combo, but also perform ridiculously-stylish Instant Kills that no one can stand up from. But a scan from Famitsu, pictured above, shows that not only does the game have an added third dimension, but also increased freedom of movement.

Look closely at the screenshots. Doesn't the gameplay look less of a versus title and more of a third-person slash-em-up? Particularly the screenshot to the right of Sol Badguy - isn't that him with the Fireseal, attacking a group of enemies with an area-of-effect blast? Yeah, thought so.

Of course, there's no confirmation yet of just what kind of gameplay Guilty Gear 2: Overture will offer, but based on the scan, it's definitely going to be interesting. More updates about this stunning development as we get them.
