Jimmy Page and Jack White are not singing praises for Guitar Hero.
Their concurrence: video games shouldn't be how people get exposed to
music or playing instruments. In a press conference in LA, promoting
the documentary "It Might Get Loud", the two legendary guitarists (Page
from Led Zeppelin, White from The White Stripes, in case you didn't
know) gave out their thoughts on music-simulation games. |

Last year, Gibson Guitar Inc. filed a suit against Activision's Guitar Hero for allegedly violating patent rights.
About a year later today, a U.S. District Court in the Central District
of California has finally given out its decision, holding that the
music game franchise does not infringe on a 1999 Gibson patent, which simulates musical performance using a 3D headset display and stereo speakers. Read more in the full article. |

I am totally sure that reader Casper B. (sorry, dear. Facebook doesn't
have a Save Chat History function, so I lost your username. hehe) would
be glad to hear about this update on Guitar Hero Metallica. Thanks to Neversoft's GH Metallica (PS3, Xbox 360, Wii, PS2) Lead Designer Alan Flores, we've got new details about the much-awaited Metal-tastic installment for the game-music franchise. Even better to know is that the guys behind the game are actual Metallica fans. It's all in good hands, then? |

Sorry, Karl, still no sign of Four Horsemen. Coming from the band itself, the full tracklist for Guitar Hero: Metallica (PS3, Xbox 360, Wii, PS2) has now been more or less confirmed. We say "more or less" because when Metallica posted the list on their site, they had a "tracklist subject to change" disclaimer. Well, it's better than nothing, and we can be rest assured that, since this list is coming from Metallica after all, this is "more or less" the real deal. No more resorting to partial lists and mini-updates - check out the full article for the entire set. |
