For those in Europe who have been waiting for Hour of Victory, rejoice! A few days after the World War II Xbox 360 video game was deployed in North America, its invasion of Europe also began (June 29).We'll give you a quick rundown of what to expect from Midway Games' Hour of Victory. Players can choose among three character classes: commando, covert operative, or ranger. Each class has a specialty (and weaknesses as well) and it will be up to the player to take advantage of it. Hour of Victory sports a single player campaign and three multiplayer modes where you can slug it out with other players over Xbox Live. Anyway, we won't keep you sitting there for much longer. If you need help deciding whether to get the game or not, better check out the previous trailers and whatnot. |

With Midway Games' Hour of Victory already shipped and available to be snatched up by the waiting hands of Xbox 360 owners with a wartime shooter itch, here's a sweet-looking gameplay video for those of us who's yet to nab a copy of our own.
In this video titled Defending HQ, we're treated to some frantic, fast-paced action that runs as smooth as silk despite all the things happening onscreen. The graphics are some of the best this side of next-gen, with everything looking quite detailed and solid. Furthermore, the weapons and the enemy soldiers you'll be shooting up in particular are so convincing, they're almost photo-realistic - always a good thing, considering that wartime shooters need to really be graphically-advanced to be immersive. No more spoilers from us - head on out to the video! |

In Hour of Victory, you have the unique opportunity to define life and death and distinguish victory from defeat while playing as one of three special roles. You can choose to play as a sneaky covert operation specialist, pick off enemies from long range as an army ranger, or siege a base as a British commando. Your skill will determine your unit's fate. In the video above, you'll see the Tank Maneuvers gameplay where you and your comrades set out to take on enemy armor and infantry. The whole thing has that whole "chrome" look to it, perhaps to give gamers a more viable feeling that these events happened in the past. And we must say that was some pretty good voice acting except for the repetitive "damn it!" part uttered when you get hit or something. Meanwhile, we've got another gameplay video behind the Full Article link below, focusing more on your trek through town. Like they say, out of the fire, into the frying pan. It looks like this game is gearing up to give established past-themed shooters like Medal of Honor and Call of Duty some resistance. Hour of Victory is being published by Midway and will be available for Microsoft Xbox 360. |

Because there's never enough WWII games and videos about them, here's a gameplay trailer of Hour of Victory - Covert Commando. If you missed the demo last May 30, now is probably a good time to decide whether you missed a lot or not.
The video takes us through a village full of enemies and showcases the different available weapons in the game. Environments are very crisp and detailed, you'd get the feel of being in a war-torn 1940s town. The mainstay weapons are there: Thompsons, Garand rifles, and other armaments we've seen the Allies and Axis use before. Can't complain about the sweet sound of gunfire in the air, and bombardments from God-knows-where. Seems like the knife and the enemies' necks work well together, as slashing from the front often results in them choking to death. An active radar is on the lower left corner to inform you about enemies and goals. Weapons on the opposite side, and that makes a simple interface. Like Call of Duty games, the corners of the screen turn red when you're about to die. |

A few days ago, Midway Games kept us on our gaming toes by announcing that the Hour of Victory game demo would be available for download come May 30. We'll be blowing the proverbial bugle today to let the troops know that as promised, this FPS' demo release was spotted on Xbox Live earlier. Take note that we said "earlier."Due to unrevealed reasons, the file was taken down from Live at around 8:20 pm EST. Earlier attempts to download the demo were met with errors - users report that they'd get stuck at the 99% mark. Whether this is a connection error or otherwise, we advise the readers to stay alert - they might put the file up again. The Hour of Victory demo is expected to occupy roughly 937.6 MB of HD space and is currently unavailable in Asia. |

Midway Games' Hour of Victory looks nice, and seems rather fulfilling with its multi-part gameplay - but what about the action, right? Is there enough action to satisfy you? Is there enough action to bring the battle frenzy back?
We think there's more than enough, and this new trailer will show it to you. Now before we go any further, we advise you to simply skip past all the boring talk of the devs and focus on the action, because that's where its at. From blowing up airplanes to stabbing people in the back, there's something satisfying about all those different gameplay elements coming together to make a whole, and it's certainly something worth looking at. Knock yourself out with the video. Focus on the glorious mayhem and destruction. Isn't it wonderful? |
