Another video game has managed to entrench itself in controversy, but like the infamous ongoing Manhunt debate, the controversy concerns not just the game itself but is relevant to the entire industry, and even includes us gamers. The controversy surrounds Jeff Gerstmann, who was recently fired from his post as editorial director of GameSpot. Speculation goes that he was fired because of the politics surrounding his review of Kane & Lynch. More in the full article. |

There are a lot of things that could go wrong in a bank heist, and in Eidos Interactive and IO Interactive's Kane & Lynch: Dead Men for the PC, Sony PlayStation 3, and Microsoft Xbox 360, it's getting stabbed - or shot - in the back that you have to really worry about. Of course, they can't do that to you if you do it to them first, and it's in this video update of the game from IO Interactive that we get a taste of how it's going to be like. It's cooperative-turned-cutthroat play at its finest.Check out the videos at the full article. |

IO Interactive has just revealed who will be behind the musical score of their upcoming title Kane & Lynch: Dead Men for the Sony PlayStation 3, Microsoft Xbox 360 and the PC. It's none other than British Academy Award-winning composer Jesper Kyd who has etched his reputation on the cacophonous atmosphere of the Hitman franchise. Kyd's work on Hitman Contracts won Best Original Music at the BAFTA Games Awards and his stylish symphonic hybrid score for Hitman: Blood Money was awarded Best Original Score by IGN. He was also nominated for Best Original Video Game Score at the MTV Video Music Awards and has received Special Achievements awards from other major game publications such as Gamespot. Kyd's work on Kane & Lynch: Dead Men's musical score is described by IO Interactive as "dark and foreboding", but at the same time "graphic and unforgiving," as the game's theme would suggest. Kane & Lynch: Dead Men's storyline revolves around an unlikely partnership between two very different game protagonists. Together, Kane and Lynch must use their unique skill sets to form a cohesive tandem in a fight that leads them to a path of redemption and revenge. Kane & Lynch: Dead Men is set for release in November of 2007. Buy: [Kane & Lynch: Dead Men (PC)] Buy: [Kane & Lynch: Dead Men (Xbox 360)] Buy: [Kane & Lynch: Dead Men (PS3)] |

More info about the game that lets players double-cross each other in a frantic race for the cash, Kane & Lynch: Dead Men (Xbox 360, PS3, PC), in this insider video that takes us inside the developers' offices. We also get an insight as to just who Kane and Lynch really are, and what drives the two men to live a life of crime.
In this video, the guys over at IO Interactive fill us in on the creative process, as well as how Lynch went from a mere bystander in the game into a full-blown character. We also get to see a heist in progress, with the players shooting it out with the police as they try to escape with the cash - and it's definitely a different take on the multiplayer shooter scene. Kane & Lynch: Dead Men definitely brings something new to the table, and we can't wait to get our hands on a copy. After all, a bank heist definitely sounds a bit more exciting than going around a map and killing other players randomly. Enjoy the video! Eidos has released some new screenshots of and information on the fragile Alliance multiplayer mode in Kane & Lynch: Dead Men (PS3, Xbox 360 and PC). The screenshots are down below but first, Fragile Alliance.
Here's how it goes: Up to eight players team up against police in a series of heist scenarios. The objective is to steal the loot and make it to the getaway point. The winner is the player who escapes with the most loot. "The options available to players are mouth-watering," said Eidos brand controller Fabien Rossini. "Are you a team player, a traitor, a bounty hunter, a cop - the decision is yours. You may start as part of a team but then it’s up to the player what they want to do." Sounds pretty interesting. You can learn more about it by checking out our previous post on the Fragile Alliance mode in Kane & Lynch: Dead Men. It's now time for the screenshots. Check 'em out below. The game is scheduled for a November 20 release in the U.S. and a November 23 release in Europe. More screenshots behind the Full Article link! |
