Hold on to your hats, folks. There's a chance that Capcom may be gearing up for a late 2009 release for Lost Planet 2 (PC, PS3, Xbox 360). According to a slide spotted at the Xbox 360 Invitational in Korea, anyway.

Apart from Capcom's official announcement at last year's E3, and the subsequent revelation that David Hayter will be hopping on board, not much has been known or heard about the movie adaptation of Lost Planet (PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and PC). Thanks to Jun Takeuchi, we're learning more about the project, and what do you know, it won't be following the game's storylines after all.

We've already seen that baddies in Lost Planet 2 (PC, PS3, Xbox 360) can come in sizes bigger than your house so hearing about colossal sand worms really doesn't come as a surprise. But if you're looking for more updates on just how big and nasty these guys and the game can get, you've come to the right place. According to Gamepro, "this game has Gears of War-killer written all over it."

More stuff coming out of GamesCom 2009. This time, we've got a gameplay vid for Lost Planet 2 (PC, PS3, Xbox 360). You'll be taking on huge monsters in this game, and your automatic rifle feels so much like a pea shooter that wouldn't even redden their skin. For that, you'll need to pack something with a little more kick. Find out what.

If you're not going to the GamesCom event in Cologne, Germany, don't worry cos there's still something for you to do on August 19th. That day, apart from the aforementioned conference, sees the launch of the demo for Lost Planet 2. Yes, Takeuchi's vague confirmation about a month ago has now been fully confirmed with a press release from Capcom announcing the scheduled release of the said game's demo.

Capcom gives you another reason to check out the Comic-Con happening next week at the San Diego Convention Center in California. The reason: Lost Planet 2. Apart from being able to play the game, you can also take home the Salamander boss you just slayed. Find out how in the full article.

Looking at this latest batch of screenshots for Capcom's Lost Planet 2, you'd think Godzilla sent out invites for a family reunion and had all his cousins come to town. And they don't seem to be the type of bunch to come to the party discreetly either. Get ready to blast them away. Unfortunately, you're gonna be the party pooper here. Appearing at Famitsu's "Midnight Live 360", Capcom producer for Lost Planet 2, Jun Takeuchi,  indicated that the 4-player coop exhibited at this year's E3 will be coming to Xbox Live as well. Well, it's not exactly written on stone and in clear black and white. He did only say, "soon, I guess," after all.

Capcom is planning to release a downloadable demo for Lost Planet 2 during or soon after E3 09. This was revealed by producer Jun Takeuchi during Capcom's Captivate09 event in Monaco. A playable version of the game is also being readied for those who will attend E3.
