Is there a new DLC for Mass Effect being readied for an August release? BioWare has not said anything about it, but a listing on Xbox Live's new "Games on Demand" category (formerly known as Xbox Originals) did. Innocent slip-up? Making it more suspicious is the fact that it's already been pulled out since.

Speaking with gaming website Joystiq at this years E3, BioWare's co-founders Greg Zeschuk and Ray Muzyka has confirmed that the second DLC for Mass Effect will be detailed and announced real soon.

A whole load of info about Mass Effect 2 (Xbox 360, PC) has apparently been leaked from an OXM interview with developer Bioware. Since we haven't seen a hard copy yet, let's treat this as a rumor for the time being. Among the details revealed in the OXM feature is confirmation that Commander Shepard is alive and well -- for a goodly chunk of the game anyway. Cheapskates rejoice, Microsoft is adding three of its grade A games to its "Classics" collection - also known as the collection of "it's cheaper now" games. Halo 3, Mass Effect, and Project Gotham Racing 4 are each now available for GBP 19.99 (US$ 28) in the EMEA region.

Looks like Karl B. (and the rest of you who also haven't finished Mass Effect yet) might want to hurry it up! Details for Mass Effect 2 are scant. Even the teaser video shown last night was rather... vague in itself, Shepard-wise. Come March 20th, Mass Effect will join the ranks of discounted Classic Xbox 360 games in Europe, said ShopTo to Eurogamer. ShopTo in turn heard the news from GEM, the game's official distributor for the region.

Electronic Arts CEO John Riccitiello dropped even more hints at Mass Effect 2's multiplatform future during recent EA's earnings call, saying that BioWare will indeed be releasing the game "on multiple platforms".
