Michael Pachter of Wedbush Morgan is betting on Electronic Arts' Jack Black starrer, Brutal Legend (PS3, Xbox 360) to be this holiday's sleeper hit. He was quick to qualify, however, that it's not gonna be that much of a smash hit, but a hit, nonetheless.

Analysts have released their predictions for the September US sales period ahead of the official numbers from NPD. According to both Michael Pachter and Jesse Divnich, all points indicate a superb showing for the Sony PS3.

This sounds grim. Speakers at the upcoming London Games Conference are forecasting that in three years' time, retail would have been outstripped by digital distribution. Not only that, but 40% of the companies in the games industry will be caught unprepared for this shift in consumer choice.

Tekken 6 looks awesome enough in the assets Namco Bandai has released so far, but for HD connoisseurs, there's still the burning question of whether or not the game's console versions really are high def. Pixel counters from Eurogamer's Digital Foundry are saying that it's not quite there yet.

Always quick with a comment, Michael Pachter has weighed in on the rumor about Microsoft buying Electronic Arts. As far as the Wedbush Morgan analyst is concerned, the rumor doesn't make any sense at all.

Michael Pachter's back on the prediction path. This time, he's thrown in his hat into the "When will Rockstar release Grand Theft Auto V?" guessing game once again, reiterating his earlier estimate that we'll see a new GTA in 2010.

This won't be entirely surprising if ever this does come to pass. RedOctane believes that the new Natal technology from Microsoft will most likely be used for the Guitar Hero franchise.

More analysts are expecting a Grand Theft Auto V, apparently, as they up their Take-Two target from US$ 15million from US$ 11 million. Anthony Gikas of Piper Jaffray is one such analyst, and here he explains why they are finding Take-Two to be even more profitable by Fiscal Year 2011.
