Ubisoft's on a definite roll this time around, with the company enjoying good sales numbers in the first quarter thanks to a boost afforded by the release of games such as Assassin's Creed (Xbox 360, PS3, PC), Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Vegas 2 (Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PC), and others. There's just one little snag, however, with the confirmation of Splinter Cell: Conviction's delay. More details in the full article. |

This isn't exactly what you came to QJ for to read, but we did think that Kotaku user Daniel P.'s wife did a heck of a job with this nice Raving Rabbids (Ubisoft) birthday cake for her son. If our QJ moms baked us cakes inspired by our favorite games, we would be torn apart trying to decide whether to eat it or to just look at it. We're no experts on the fine art of cookery, and there weren't a lot of details thrown in to let us know how it was made and what ingredients went in. The one thing we know is that it's from Germany, and look! The rabbid is holding a 1Up Mario mushroom for the kid's age! We hope to see more game cakes soon. How about a Final Fantasy, Halo or Silent Hill Cake? Those things would be the star of every party provided that Phoenix Down, alien hide and visceral parts aren't in the recipe. |

Is there a new Rayman title in the works? That's the question that The Platformers asked when they got hold of the art book included with the Xbox 360 version of Ubisoft's Rayman Raving Rabbids. According to a post on The Platformers, "on the backside of an art book bundled with the Xbox 360 edition of Rayman Raving Rabbids lies an image which would undoubtedly cause one to think a sequel for to Raving Rabbids is on the way". Of course, the "semi-announce a new game through the often overlooked instruction manual" maneuver was also employed by Sony for God of War: Chains of Olympus. The fact that Rayman Raving Rabbids was one of Ubisoft's more successful titles also lends credence to this rumor. Remember though, this is all just pure conjecture, but hey, a new Rayman Raving Rabbids game would be most welcome, we think. What about you guys? Leave a comment and let us know. |

Them rabbids are really cute aren't they? So friggin' cute, you'd want to gobble them up! Well let's see if you'd still have the stomach to do just that with these home-made rabbid cupcakes.
Apparently, some happy-yet-not-so-able-in-the-kitchen duo do have plans of eating them that they literally baked up those cute, fuzzy hoppin' mammals from Ubisoft's Rayman Raving Rabbids. Oh, but don't worry, no real rabbits were harmed in this --er-- catastrophic baking process. I don't know about you, but they don't look delish in the least bit in these photos. They look utterly mad, I tell you. Maaaadddd!!!! Oh well, at least they got the character of the rabbids down pat... Bon apetit! Wait, where are you going??? But there's more rabbid goodness after the jump! Really... Buy: [Rayman Raving Rabbids (Wii)] Buy: [Rayman Raving Rabbids (X360] |

Yes, we know that everyone's probably high on some rabbid fur on their Wii consoles, but to look at things macroscopically, there isn't any reason to forget about Rayman Raving Rabbids on the Xbox 360. After all, one of the new things that the 360-version will have that the Wii doesn't is its support for the Live Vision camera. There are also going to be some exclusive minigames too, like Bunnies Don't Play Basketball as seen the screenshot above. Here are more screens for the 360 version which is set to come out this month. |

IGN reports that Ubisoft's Rayman Raving Rabbids is set to make an appearance on Microsoft's Xbox 360. The X360 version is reported to include the core gameplay but the 360 version will add some graphical tweaks and some exclusive mini-games.The X360 version is reported to take advantage of the Xbox Live Vision camera for "gesture control" and is set to allow you to interact with the game through your body movements. 37 of the 70 plus mini-games is said to use this feature, including the dance and the FPS games. Exclusive mini-games include Bunnies Don't Play Basketball and Bunnies Don't Play Rock, Paper Scissors. Given the number of Wiimote-related incidents due to players getting way too immersed in the gameplay, we now wonder if we'll see a number of XBL Vision camera-related accidents. Of course, the camera probably won't be used the way that Rabbid on the right does. Rayman Raving Rabbids is set to invade the Xbox 360 next month. |

Apart from getting slapped while singing in a choir, and wielding plungers for weapons, and having futile attempts at cooking turkey, and being hung in the Christmas tree as decors, what else can the Rabbids do? A lot, apparently. Four, exactly. From Penny Arcade for Ubisoft, here comes new artworks showcasing the multi-faceted Rabbids in activities you never would have thought they could do. Yup, just like everybody else, them bunnies do lie about their age. And they happen to be excellent sportsmen--er--sportsbunnies--as well, playing Ping Pong. And just like you and me shedding a tear for Chris Rock's demise in The Longest Yard, they can be nostalgic, too. Oh, and there's no sense keeping it from them. They know that you know how much of a mean killing machine they actually are underneath all that facade of cuteness. Yes, they can smell your fear. From a mile away. Or maybe it's them cows they smell. *shrugs* Buy: [Rayman Raving Rabbids (Wii)] Buy: [Rayman Raving Rabbids (X360] |

Don't we just love those Rabbid videos? They're all so cute and evil, you're torn between squeezing them in a tight hug, or strangling them for trying to rule over the earth--and stupidly, at that. But what if the videos are for a good cause? Like the ones we have here for you today. Nope, these aren't more clips of them plunger-wielding not-so-villainous villains from Rayman Raving Rabbids. These actually are the videos that Ubisoft created in partnership with UNICEF, dealing with children's rights. The videos illustrates the particular rights to nourishment, to education, and to self-expression. Says Rayman creator Michel Ancel, working in the industry of virtual entertainment does not mean that you won't be concerned with realities of this world anymore. Anyway, the videos prove to be really entertaining, so please do check them out. They still look stupid, but hey, it's for a cause. Admittedly, you wouldn't trust me to whip up something in the kitchen for dinner. But this writer would have to proudly say that she sure knows a laundry machine from an oven. Not like them rabbids.
This video stars the rabbids in their presentation of "Very Useful Scientific Facts". We're not really sure just how exactly they got to be useful, but hey, the point is, these cute little things can't cook turkey! Imagine, they had it inside the laundry machine. (Kinda reminds me of this episode from A Simple Life, where Paris and Nicole were discussing the 'reality' of laundromats. Apparently, their only encounter with it is with Josh Hartnett's movie 40 days and 40 nights. And no, it's not even a movie about laundromats. There just happened to be a scene in it.) Anyway, simple-minded as these creatures may be, like their Hollywood counterparts, the vid certainly guarantees that they can dance. And with turkeys on their heads. That's talent for you. Catch them in Rayman Raving Rabbids for more laughs and fun. Buy: [Rayman Raving Rabbids for the Xbox 360] Buy: [Rayman Raving Rabbids for the Wii] |

Check out this third and newest gameplay trailer for Rayman Raving Rabbids from Ubisoft. In here, you'd be welcomed by a cute and huggable rabbid, with its wide eyes, with the music of Jingle Bells in the background. Looks cuddly and innocent enough, that is until a rabbid scream pierces through the air and breaks the reverie. Pretty much, it features the minigames, like the one where you'd have to kill off them worms breaking the teeth of one hapless rabbid, as well as Rayman himself flying through golden hoops. Although here, you'd be given an idea of how to handle the controls, basically, with the Wiimote and nunchuk. And who better to demonstrate than them rabbids themselves? Oh, and of course, apart from the plunger-shooting action, the cows are there too. Yes, we love them cows. Moo. |
