Xbox 360 - Image 1

For those of us who have just switched on their Xbox 360s and wondering what was the update all about, rest easy - it's not the fall dashboard update we've been waiting pins and needles for. Now, before you say Jedi Mind Trick, Major Nelson himself has verified that the update is in fact not about the dashboard, but something else entirely.

So what was it for, anyway? Just like the update that popped up into our screens before the launch of Halo 3, it's another minor patch to prep our Xbox 360s for another big release. This time, it's about the Big Button Pad that comes with Scene It? Lights, Camera, Action quiz game. And the reason why they got it out so early was that the team needs a bit of time to test the new controller against the hardware/software combo before it hits retail shelves.

So that's it. The update's just about adding support for the Big Button Pad, and nothing but. Guess we'll have to keep on our toes for that fall dashboard update, eh?

So what's the game really about? For those of us not in the know, Scene It? is a DVD board game, selling more than 10 million units sold in 15 countries - even outnumbering the sales of other mainstream, traditional titles such as Pictionary and Trivial Pursuit. Being as successful as it is in the DVD format, it's no surprise that a spiced-up version for the Xbox 360 was cooked up, and it's ready to take over your family's living room, testing your reaction time AND your knowledge of movie trivia.

And if you think that Scene It? Lights, Camera, Action is going to be just another trivia game, think again. The title, which is pencilled to go for US$ 59.99 a pop, comes bundled with four Big Button Controllers, pictured below. Wireless and colorful, they give each player their very own buzzer as well as add to the immersion factor.

And you don't just answer questions, either - the game has a bevy of puzzle challenges and game modes that not only mixes up the gameplay but also ensures that every game session is unique and fresh. Plus, with new questions about upcoming movies also available for download, Scene It? Lights, Camera, Action will keep you and your family occupied for days (and nights) to come.
