From the Shiny Entertainment to star-studded Tinsel Town, Kevin Munroe, designer behind Earthworm Jim, MDK, and Freaky Flyers, had a lot to say in an interview with John Gaudiosi about his love for game development, especially for his collaboration (or insufficiency thereof) to create TMNT: The Video Game already available for the PC, Xbox 360, Wii, PS2, GameCube, PSP, Nintendo DS and Game Boy Advance.
TMNT: The Movie writer-slash-director Munroe wished that he could have been "more involved" with the development of the TMNT game. His works on the CGI characters on the big screen, the actual environmental artwork, the sound effects - he gave them all to Ubisoft to tinker with. He even went so far as to describing the gist of the movie's story, the was happy to see that it fit well with the game engine."Other than that, I got so swamped with the movie. All of the plans about getting more involved with the game and kicking ideas back and forth all went out the window," said Munroe, who only got word of the game's developments through an Xbox 360 dev kit provided by Ubisoft. He described that the game was pretty much playing through the movie's story. Aside from the better visuals the movie is more capable of, the game itself transports you to the monster-invaded streets of the Big Apple. His kids were excited that they could explore the vast city and be free to search for trouble. Munroe continued, "My kids were freaking out about it. It was cool to see them feel like they were playing the movie. It's a trite thing to say, but I could feel it when I was playing the game. It's the first time I ever felt like that promise was carried through." You can click the Read link below to see the blow-by-blow interview where he also discusses the various gaming consoles and handhelds his family has back home, and more on what it was like working on the movie. |

Ubisoft has finally confirmed that the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles arcade game is heading for XBLA. The classic side-scroller form 1989 will feature all seven original levels, voice-chat support, and will be playable in two- to four-player coop modes via Xbox Live. The game will have 200 achievement points and will be available this month for 400 Microsoft Points (US$ 5). "The release of the TMNT classic arcade game on Xbox LIVE Arcade is Ubisoft's homage to a world-renowned franchise that for almost 20 years has captured the hearts of gamers," said James Regan, director of new business development at Ubisoft. "Ubisoft is breathing new life into the video game franchise with the launch of our downloadable console games while remaining true to the unique core values that make the Turtles so timeless." |

They're the world's most fearsome fighting team; they're the heroes in a half-shell, and they're green. Yeah, you know the lyrics to the theme song from that 70s show 80s cartoon. And if you don't, worry not. Here are a couple of screenshots from Ubisoft's TMNT game (360, Wii, PS2, and PC) that give you the main gist: Leonardo leads, Donatello does machines... Here we've got the fearsome greensome foursome in their own nature with their very own weapons. Notice how each of them can be used in the game, fighting styles, travelling acrobatics, and the proverbial hack-and-slash through hordes of the Foot Clan. The game (including its DS, GBA, GameCube, and PSP spin-offs) comes out on March 13 - just a few days before the movie on the 23rd. |

Children of the 80s, this is your time to shine as characters from those days are making their comeback, and making themselves at home with the current video game technology (like Transformers). So, if you're the type who still wants to experiment with ooze and a bunch of turtles, the Ubisoft wants you to stay tuned for their Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles game. Headed for the Xbox 360, the Wii, the PS3, PSP, PC, PS2, GBA, GC and the NDS, it's going to be pretty hard to miss once it's released by March 13. As we wait for March to come around, here's yet another small taste of what we can expect from the DS and Xbox 360 versions of the return of those green, anthropomorphic heroes of our childhoods. |

Just yesterday, we brought you a teaser of the latest game installment to the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles franchise. Just dubbed TMNT: The Video Game, Ubisoft decided to give our shell-shocking pals a whole new ninja character. The game is slated to come out for the PS2, the Wii, the Xbox 360 and the PC.
Shimmying across ledges, jumping from rooftop to rooftop, and running up walls (Prince of Persia-style) are now added to the martial arts know-how of Leonardo, Michelangelo, Rafael, and Donatello. Where April O'Neil and Casey Jones are, we haven't got a clue. With the movie from Warner Brothers Pictures and the Weinstein Company fast approaching (entitled "TMNT"), the game is also riding the waves of hype, oozing with just plain coolness. It's been a while since the last "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" movie and a short while since Konami's Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Melee (a critical let-down). Perhaps Ubisoft is going up the right road to revive the franchise and satisfy the dismayed fans, but it looks like perhaps they're adding a little bit too much of Prince of Persia into the mix? What say you? |

This may sound a bit weird, but the thing I remember most about Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles is the tandem of Bebop and Rocksteady. But that doesn't mean I did not enjoy it when Leonardo, Raphael, Michelangelo, and Donatello are kicking serious enemy butts. Anyhow, it's a good thing that the gang is coming to the Xbox 360, Wii, and PC because we're sure that a lot of gamers would have a kick in reminiscing their childhood just by playing the game.
Anyway, enough with the sentimental stuff. Going over GameTrailers, we found a gameplay video of TMNT dubbed as the Foot Stomping Gameplay. Looking at the video, I could only wish that the game would be blessed with a co-op feature. That would really be nice. With all that said, here's the vid for you guys. Just so you know, the game would have its U.S. release for the Xbox 360. Wii, and PC on March 13. |

Green is "in" as the heroes in a half-shell let loose in their upcoming CGI movie and adventure game, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, for the PC, X360, Wii, DS and PSP. Set in a New York City besieged by bizarre beasts and shadowy figures, the fearsome foursome embark on their toughest mission yet as they struggle to maintain the ties that bind them as a unit.
The movie delves into the subject of adolescent angst as Donatello, Michelangelo and Raphael do everything to maintain their focus emotionally while trying to deal with all the ruckus in their hometown. Now, more than ever, Leonardo must step up on that leadership plate with the assistance of the fatherly Master Splinter to get things back in line again. Meanwhile, Ubisoft promises a game that will appeal to everyone by delivering good graphics, explosive ninjitsu driven gameplay, tag-team moves and interesting enemies. The Montreal-based game maker draws the plot straight out of the movie with the addition of a few twists. Download: [TMNT Trailer] More screens await after the jump! |

March 2007 will be the month of the Turtles. No, this is hardly a conservation effort from animals and wildlife organizations. The turtles we're referring to aren't even real turtles. They're mutated and, well, they thrive in video game form. Yup, we're talking about the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. And they're back to invade not only the multiplatforms, but the big screen as well. The game will be out on March 13th for (takes a deep breath): Xbox 360, PS2, PSP, PC, GBA, NDS, GameCube and Wii. Whew. We told you it's a multiplatformer. Anyways, the movie will start rollin' on March 23rd. In case you aren't aware yet as to what to expect with this new version of them pizza-lovin', sewage-livin' turtles, here's a list of the features. But in case you do know already, well, a little reminder can't hurt.

Ubisoft's announcement way back in January that it had acquired the rights to make Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles games based on the upcoming movie has finally borne some fruit in the form of new details.
The TMNT game, which is set to release ahead of the movie next spring, is currently in development at the Ubisoft studios in Montreal and Quebec City and will be released on the Xbox 360, Wii, PS2, PSP, DS, GameCube, Game Boy Advance, and PC. The game will feature a host of adversaries taken from both the movie and the original comics. Ubisoft's experience in acrobatic navigation - honed through the development of the Prince of Persia series - will also be put to good use in the TMNT game, which will feature environments built around the concept of acrobatic navigation. Another feature in which the franchise's familial theme will be put in the spotlight is the collaborative team-ups. The turtles will use each other's assistance to pummel their foes as well as to gain access to new areas. Ubisoft's TMNT game is set for release on March 13, ten days before the TMNT movie hits theaters on March 23. Price details have yet to be announced. |
