Terra: Formationsis obviously out to conquer the universe, and this futuristic FPS/RTS/RPG title will most definitely give you some tough challenge to crack. Set in the year 2157, man has abandoned dried up, good ol' planet Earth and has jumped ship to one of Jupiter's moon called "Europa". But of course, they are not alone. Basically, the thrust of the game is for you to join the elite army force tasked with the reshaping of the environments of those worlds deemed not yet ready for habitation. Of course, as man is new in the neighborhood, they must be able to develop their new planet in order to make it more suited for their needs. But bugs are there, and, well, they don't really like the company. Nobody really likes intrusion in their own space, right? So what you can expect from that is a fight for domination and, ultimately, survival. There are four classes of characters for you to interact with and learn from: the Soldier faction, the Engineer class, the Researcher class, and the Commander class. The Soldier faction is tasked to provide you with the experience of the kind of action you'd typically find in a traditional FPS game. If you don the Engineer suit, meanwhile, you'll be entrusted with the development and construction of the facilities. Of course, as you are new in the area, some good researcher will most certainly take you a long way. So, the Researcher class is there to help you explore the new world, as well as gain knowledge on the tools and development of technology. And as leadership is primordial in running a new world, the Commander class is there to ensure that things are in order, paving the way for a more stable future. Terra: Formations is said to be ported to the Xbox 360 and the PC, with a yet unannounced 2007 release date. Just keep it posted here for more updates. In the meantime, a world-full of screenshots await you over at the Full Article, so check them out. |

Cellien Studios, a company part of Irish Star Cave Studios, has officially announced Terra: Formations, a game for PC, PS3 and Xbox 360.
Terra: Formations is an MMOFPSRTSRPG (what a mouthful, in other words: Massively Multiplayer-Online-First Person Shooter, Real Time Strategy-Role Playing Game). It's made the rounds of the more recent conventions, where it's created quite a stir. This game's still in development, though, plus the developers are still looking for a publisher, so no release date can be set yet. Players have a lot of options - they can choose to be either humans or aliens and either run on the battlefield or be the commander, and are also able to select (from a very wide range of choices) which weapons and vehicles they can use. We've included a couple screenshots for your viewing pleasure. ![]() ![]() |
