PGA Tour 08 gets the Doral course via XBL - Image 1Looking to see more playing fields for your copy of Tiger Woods PGA Tour 08 from EA Sports for the Microsoft Xbox 360, Sony PS3,  and Wii? We're letting the players know that EA has released the new Doral course for the game's 360 port, which is now available over on Xbox Live for a sum of 400 MS points.

As a backgrounder, Doral (aka the Blue Monster) is set at the Doral Golf Resort & Spa in Doral, Florida. As for its connection to the PGA Tour golf tournament, the Doral Open has been the competition ground for some of the top golfers outside major championships and the World Golf Championships, including the game's titular player, Tiger Woods. If you've the HD space to spare, PGA Tour 08's very first downloadable content for the Xbox 360 is yours for the taking.

For those of you who didn't catch the Tiger Woods PGA Tour 08 demo from Electronic Arts which went online recently, prepare to change your mind. This video has one of the project's bosses Mike Cayado talking about Tiger Woods PGA Tour 08's features. While you're listening in, take the time to gawk at the sweet graphics. Check it out:

Mike mainly talks about the GamerNET, a new feature that measures every move you make in the game and allows you to upload the clip to share it with everyone online. The feature works great not only for showing off, but also for earning points that will enhance your saved game.

Also discussed was the Photo Face feature that allows you to take a snapshot of yourself or download an image online and have a created golfer put it on. The amazing thing about this is that the game generates expressions using the image data, so your face will react realistically on any given situation and not remain stone-faced, staring at nothingness all the time. Tiger Woods PGA Tour 08 is headed for the Microsoft Xbox 360, the Sony PlayStation 3, and the PC.

Yet another EA Sports game is about to hit the shelves. Before your woods get hot for that tee shot, we've got a video found on Gametrailers that takes an in-depth look at some of the new mechanics Tiger Woods PGA Tour '08 (PS3, Xbox 360, PC) will be introducing.

New to the franchise is the grid line feature when putting, something we've seen from other golf games like Pangya. Another worthy addition that looks very promising is the Player Confidence system. All your shots will be recorded, and your future performance will be affected by your previous attempts. If you've been nailing the green from a certain place on the hole, your player will be more confident in taking shots from there.

Before you drool too much, here's producer Mike Cayado walking us through what to expect from the latest Tiger Woods PGA Tour title:

It feels like Electronic Arts (EA) is particularly quiet about video game title Tiger Woods PGA Tour Edition 08. Aside from the GamerNet system that will be available on the PlayStation 3 (PS3) and Xbox 360 versions, no other detail is known about this game. The said system is aimed to encourage user-generated content for the game.

Sure, it's a golf game much like its other predecessors but we're kind of curious as to how greatly or poorly the game has changed from Tiger Woods 07. Will there be new features? New modes? Oh well, we're pretty sure anyway that these information will come out eventually and we will be more than happy to report them to you.

While waiting for these new details, why not check out these newly released screenshots of Tiger Woods PGA Tour Edition 08 for the 360. Aside from the two consoles, the game will also be released on platforms PlayStation 2 (PS2), PlayStation Portable (PSP), DS, Wii, and Games for Windows (PC).

EA uses GamerNet on Tiger Woods 08 - Image 1Electronic Arts' (EA) franchise title Tiger Woods PGA Tour is going to have a 2008 edition, at least that much is already a given. However, what fans don't know is that that the publisher/developer will be employing EA Sports' GamerNet.

So what is GamerNet, you ask? It's actually a working title for a system driven by user-generated content and a points system that will "set a trend" for other EA products... or at least that's how one representative from the company explained it. While the employee went on to say that this system is going to be EA's future, he did clarify that not all EA Tiburon video games will have it.

In Tiger Woods 08, GamerNet can be used by players as an uploading station for their excellent individual shots so that other online players can view it as well. The games that will carry this system will have GamerNet in their in-game interface so they can browse and load files without interrupting gameplay.

Also, the representative explained that the new system aims to encourage out-of-game community competition by having a unique online point system. This point system, on the other hand, will let players vote for their favorite uploaded user-generated content. Aside from this, Tiger Woods 08 will also feature "Photo Game Face" (working title) that will allow players to upload their photos and create photo-realistic characters.

The above mentioned features will only appear on the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 versions of Tiger Woods PGA Tour 08. The title will be released on other platforms such as PlayStation 2 (PS2), PlayStation Portable (PSP), DS, Wii, and Games for Windows (PC).
