Game publisher Ubisoft probably couldn't cut it any closer than this, as they announce via press wire that WarTech: Senko no Ronde is now in retail and ready for purchase by the Xbox 360 community. This announcement comes just two days shy of the beginning of June. Now, in case you weren't around during the publisher's preliminary announcement of this game's Western release, here's a quick briefing: Senko no Ronde was originally an arcade game developed by G.rev Ltd. for Japan in back 2004. The game puts players behind the controls of one of several robots (aka Rounder Mech Suits), while treating them to some decidedly cute anime babes as pilots (Mechs and cute ladies - always a winning formula). Another Japanese mecha title will be making it to North America and Europe's Xbox 360 scene, as we pick up word that Ubisoft is now the publisher of G.rev Ltd.'s Senko no Ronde game. Dubbed WarTech: Senko no Ronde for its upcoming Western release, the game is an arcade shooter set in a world with dwindling natural resources, with each of the world nations nations now vying for one final battle to determine the planet's fate; Imagine every mecha/super robot anime you've seen, and you get the idea. The game puts the players in one of 24 selectable Rounder Mechs, as they fight enemy mechs in an aerial-based environment. The game support both single-player (story) and multiplayer mode, with the latter further supported for both offline and Xbox Live. The game is expected to arrive this May, at a retail price of US$ 59.99. For the 360 owners looking for mecha action with less on the planning (Armored Core and Chromehounds come to mind) and more on the action, set your calendars. |
