The new Bionic Commando logo - Image 1Granted, it's no fun to be on the receiving end of nagging, though sometimes it can help lead to good things, such as Bionic Commando. Let game producer Ben Judd tell you how nagging and the Sony's PSP played a part in the production of the game (besides the confirmed Remote Play version, that is). We've got a "nagging" feeling you'll find the info in the full article, right after the jump.

Track & Field from Konami - Image 1Button mashing. It's probably one of the most basic human instincts of a gamer. So, when a button-mashing game that hails from 1983 comes running into the Xbox Live Arcade, you can bet your sore thumbs on a (s)mash hit reincarnation.

Following last week's Marathon: Durandal and Spyglass Board Games, a press release from Microsoft has announced the incoming title for this XBLA Wednesday: Konami's Track & Field.

The game features online leaderboards and track time records, plus a four player mode on one console or over XBL. Dashing into the finish line at 400 MS Points, the game will arrive on August 8, Wednesday, 09:00 GMT.

In the same press release, they've also given us a sneak peak of what to expect in the future:
  • Ecco the Dolphin
  • Hexic 2
  • War World
  • Geon: Emotions
  • Puzzle Quest: Challenge of the Warlords
  • Space Giraffe
  • Streets of Rage 2
  • Super Puzzle Fighter II Turbo HD Remix
Yeah, summer was never this good. Meanwhile, better start warming up those thumbs.

Wing Commander Arena to be hitting XBLA next week - Image 1

It's long been known that Wing Commander Arena will be heading to the Xbox Live Arcade, however, the big question was when. Xbox Fanboy has confirmed with publisher Electronic Arts that the game will be arriving on July 25 and can be purchased for 800 Microsoft points.

Regardless, if you're too young to remember the Wing Commander series on the PC you should give this game a try. Just imagine having a dogfight in space with 15 other players. Yup, that's right, this is the first XBLA game to have 16 player online matches. Aside from this, the game has a pretty impressive list of features that might interest you:
  • Form your squad then hunt down and destroy enemy armadas
  • Four game modes: single player, plus multiplayer Team, Free for All, and Duel
  • Eight game maps set in the outer reaches of space
  • Track your progress as you climb single- and multiplayer leaderboards
  • Blast away and earn new Xbox Live achievements
Be sure to check out your consoles on July 25 when this game comes out, because it looks to be a blast. More XBLA updates as we get them.

Yie Ar Kung Fu and Bomberman Live coming out on XBLA this July 18 - Image 1 Yie Ar Kung Fu and Bomberman Live coming out on XBLA this July 18 - Image 2

We've covered a lot of awesome games that have hit the Xbox Live Arcade ever since it came out. However, it took some time for them to release two games that I personally have been waiting for: Bomberman Live from Hudson and Yie Ar Kung-Fu from Konami.

Let's start with the IP that most would recognize: Bomberman Live. If you've been lucky enough to play the first multiplayer version of this game on the Super Nintendo, then you'll understand the excitement we feel over this announcement. The game can support up to four players on one console or eight players via online multiplayer.

They've also added extensive customization features for your bomberman with up to 10,000 possible combinations. So far they've announced four arenas and 16 powerups in the game. Hopefully, we'll be seeing more downloadable content for this game in the future. You can get this awesome game for 800 MS Points.

Konami's offering of Yie Ar Kung-Fu is no slouch either. If you've played this on your NES or in the Arcade, you'll probably know that this is about a fighter named Oolong on a quest to become the ultimate champion. Along the way he'll have to battle through four characters with various weapons and skills among them, a shuriken-throwing lady and a character who uses a psychocrusher-like move a la M.Bison.

To break the monotony, there's a bonus stage where you get to hit flying fans as they come hurtling towards you from both sides. So how much will this classic cost you? 400 MS points.

Both games will be out this July 18, so log on then to download it. Keep checking back here for more Xbox Live Arcade updates and releases.

XBox 360 LIVE Activity for week of July 2 - Image 1We're anxiously awaiting the arrival of Halo 3, and that game would definitely affect the top ten Live Titles which has been relatively stable for the past month and a half.

And speaking of Xbox Live activity (nice segue, huh?), here's the Live Activity update: currently leading the pack is Gears of War followed by tactical FPS Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Vegas and racing game Forza Motorsport 2.

In the Xbox Live Arcade, we have Missile Command taking the top spot with UNO coming in at second and Carcassonne at third. For those who are still following the original Live activity, Halo 2 is still the king at number one, with Battlefield 2: Modern Combat, Star Wars: Battlefront 2 at second and third respectively.

Not much activity among the games overall, but it should give you guys an idea on what the most played games are and what you should pick up next time you're in your local neighborhood gameshop.
