Ollie, one of the most basic trick that every skateboarder must master if he wants to gain more respect from the prowlers of skateboarding flatlands and parks. Ollie requires a skater to pop his skateboard into the air, making him look like he's jumping with his feet glued to the skateboard. And who is better to show us how to make such dare-devil tricks than pro-skaters like Tony Hawk, or at least a character rendition of him.

This video shows not only an accomplished ollie, but also other insane tricks like nose manual, 50-50, and double heelflip being executed in the game's wide skateboarding environments. From skateparks to the suburban streets, you are free do any daredevil move that you like. Of course, count in the bruises (if you're lucky) and bone-crushes (need we say more?). But don't fret over those nasty bruises and fractures as there are some goals in the game that really calls for breaking a certain number of bones; well be thankful that at least it's not in real life.

Tony Hawk's Project 8 features playable characters of some of the world-renowned skateboarding icons. The game offers a real adrenaline rush in one of the most extreme games ever, with detailed visuals of skateboarding environments and bone-breaking challenges that unleashes the "skateboarder" in every player. The game also offers cool music backgrounds such as "I wanna Live" by The Ramones and "Zoo York City" by Funk Face that heightens your skateboarding experience.

Tony Hawk's Project 8 is also set to be released on the Xbox 360 and PSP on November 7 this year. For more updates on the game, be sure to stay tuned here at QJ.

Xbox rolls

Check out these Xbox 360 branded fruit-flavored rolls. These fruit rolls have been lurking in grocery shelves for a long time now, and they're offering tips on games like Saints Row and Amped 3 on the back of its packaging. It may be an unusual tie-in but there's nothing like free game tips from your favorite food company. In addition to these fruit rolls, Kellogg's were also able to come up with the idea of having mini Xbox games in every pack of your favorite cereals like Corn Pops and Rice Crispies. Aside from enjoying such mouthwatering treats, you also get to enjoy free Xbox goodies!

These products, which are a result from the Kellogg's-Microsoft team up, have been released for quite some time now and it is very evident that Microsoft is expanding their marketing strategy for Xbox 360. This can be a good sign, especially if one is targeting a global market. Food is one of our basic needs and what great way to reach your target customers than food packages and cartons right? Unless your green and mean machine has taken over food as your most basic need?! O well, at least your mom won't go after you for leaving the green things in your plate untouched.

WWEOn October 19, 2004, a lawsuit against THQ Inc. and JAKKS Pacific LLC was filed by the World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) in the U.S. District court. This is about the toy license with WWE and the video game license between WWE and the joint venture company operated by THQ Inc. and JAKKS Pacific Inc.

Named WWE Action, World Wrestling Entertainment, Inc. claimed that both companies violated their property rights by improper sales of WWE video games in Japan and other Asian territories. Due to this, WWE is seeking termination of video game license of both companies along with monetary damages.

THQ and JAKKS Pacific denied the allegations in a press release recently, claiming that the lawsuit is "without merit" and they are planning to prove their case in court. One of the WWE video games from the joint venture is WWE Smackdown vs Raw 2006 for the PSP and PS2 consoles which was released in U.S. and Canadian territories on November 15 last year. With the lawsuit at hand, we don't know if the release of the game will be fulfilled. But we are keeping our fingers crossed that this case won't affect other WWE releases from THQ and JAKKS Pacific since so many WWE fans have been waiting for this.

GTA IV

After Microsoft and RockStar Games announced that an exclusive episodic content for Grand Theft Auto IV is heading to Xbox Live, it seems that it wasn't "exclusive" at all. The rumor buzzin' around, according to a Rockstar North insider, is that the developers are also working on a downloadable content for Sony's PlayStation 3 platform. The rumor also says that the downloadable content for Xbox Live is pretty much the same for the PlayStation 3. The new content is expected to feature a bunch of additional areas which players are free to explore.

To date, the Grand Theft Auto series has regained popularity in the gaming world after it gave players the opportunity to play the role of a criminal and accomplish various missions in order to rise through the ranks of organized crime. With the GTA IV in sight, we expect to see more developments in the game that kept GTA fans hitched to the game. GTA IV marks the 10th anniversary of the Grand Theft Auto franchise and it will be released on U.S. soil on October 16 next year. As for the rumors, RockStar Games has not confirmed this yet but we will keep our eyes peeled for that.

Douglas LowensteinFollowing the announcement of Entertainment Software Association (ESA) that the 2007 Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3Expo) will be downsized to a smaller scale as compared to E3Expo 2006, they now reveal what it's new format will be.

The new setup was envisioned to provide the gaming industry with a more intimate program. In contrast to this year's E3Expo, which featured large trade shows, E3Expo 2007 will be more focused on targeted, personalized meetings and activities, according to ESA.

And as promised, ESA recently released details on what to expect on next year's E3 event. The next show will be renamed as the E3 Media and Business Summit featuring a low-key series of event for game developers, retailers and other key figures in the gaming industry. It will be held in Santa Monica, California from July 11 to 13 and it will only be accessible thru invitations. A central meeting will be held at the Barker Hangar in Santa Monica airport, complete with gaming displays and traditional "show and tell" trade show setups.

"The new E3 is first and foremost about getting business done. When we asked key audiences what they wanted in the new event, we heard that they wanted opportunities for high-level meetings in a business-like setting, to play games, network, and socialize, to see major company offerings while also preserving the sense of discovery that is so much a part of E3, and to hear substantive presentations on the most important issues and trends facing the industry," said Douglas Lowenstein, President of ESA.

Gaming showcases, daily luncheon with industry leaders, and the "Into The Pixel" videogame art competition and exhibition will also be expected in E3Expo 2007. With the event being an invitation-only, the general public would not be able to stop by and check out the activities. With this, Lowenstein said that gaming has already entered the mainstream culture and a big event in order to draw attention is not necessary anymore.

Meanwhile, LucasArts' Lego Star Wars II: The Original Trilogy has managed to oust Eidos' Just Cause to grab the second place. Another EA title remains at number three, Tiger Woods PGA Tour 07. Square Enix's Kingdom Hearts II and THQ's Company of Heroes are non-movers, clinging to the fifth and seventh spot, respectively.

DOAX2

Kasumi and the girls of Dead or Alive Xtreme 2 are still in Zack's newly acquired island, tricked into believing in his lies. But still, we can't help but gawk at the girls as they are getting more life-like, basing on recent screens that we saw from the game. Not only that, we noticed that the surroundings in the game are also improving especially on the aspect of lighting and casted shadows. Just check out the images of the resort's room below. They give you an aura of a real haven even just by looking at them. And the girls! Their skin looks more soft and supple now.

The game will feature an array of mini-games that will test the girls competitive streak. Of course, there is also the gambling portion of the game as the New Zack Island has its own casino, too. Dead or Alive fans will be delighted to capture their favorite poses of the girls as the game also allows users to take pictures from the game.

The elements in the game, like moving human bodies, will feel more natural as they will behave the same way as they do in real life. Beach volley, a staple sport in the Dead or Alive series, is one the good ways to enjoy a vacation with the girls. Basking under the sun, with a scenic view of the sea and sand, one can only imagine how lucky that guy, Zack, is to be in an island with the girls.

Xbox 360 bundleBack in September, Microsoft announced the Xbox 360 Premium Bundle, which includes Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter. Now, rumor has it that two more bundles will be expected to hit Canadian shores this November. According to Kotaku's retail insider, a Core Package bundle will include Project Gotham Racing 3, and Kameo: Elements of Power.

The Premium Package bundle, on the other hand, will include Tom Clancy's GRAW and Amped 3. The tipster didn't provide the price details nor release dates, but he did say that more black Xbox 360 info will be released soon.

If these rumours turn out to be true, then our Canadian friends who have been holding off buying Xbox 360s may just find two tempting reasons to snag one next month.

Army of Two

Army of Two, the action game by Electronic Arts that focuses on cooperative and coordinated strategies in the world of private military cooperation riddled with conflicts. The story of the game is still vague but players get to play as Tyson Rios and Elliot Salem, the two "contractors" who are supposedly former Army Rangers in a private military cooperation that was hired to supplement government military forces. Both characters wear ballistic facemasks. Salem's mask has a skull-like teeth design while Rio's mask bears large flames.

The game will feature a "unique weapon upgrading system" where any part of a gun can be combined.  Being a co-op type of game, a player is forced to work with his partner. Once a character is chosen, the partner will be controlled by the computer or another player.

Check out the new screens from the game.
