According to the estimates of Activision, the latest installment of the Call of Duty franchise has so far generated $550 million worldwide in just five days to set an all-time entertainment industry record, shattering all previous first-and five-day entertainment industry box office, book and video game sell-through records.

In a total "Stick It To The Man" attitude, website Call of Duty Hacks is claiming that the much-hated IWNET system for Modern Warfare 2 (PC, PS3 and Xbox 360) has already been hacked into. A YouTube video showed a ranked PC match, along with the player blatantly using a wide variety of cheats.

With their new James Bond game coming out next year plus plans to make a series out of the Bond franchise, Activision decided not to get Daniel Craig as the face of their James Bond. Daniel Craig's a big star - it'll be hard to fit sessions of dialog recording into his busy schedule, he'll have Bond movies to shoot - all that and he's expensive, too. So instead, we'll be getting Adam Croasdell.

Activision is positively raking in the dough in the wake of Modern Warfare 2's release. Biggest entertainment launch of all time? Could be. In the UK alone, the game has already sold more than a million copies in a 24-hour period.
